Went to the local "Pick and Pull"yards this week and it had tons of front-drivers and mid-80's 4doors. I did find a few cars of interest. A 75 4door Dart, an old Duster someone looks to have made an attempt at turning into a race car. And what I am guessing id a 62-63 Dart? Last 2 pics are of a dual exhaust and rear bumper I want for my 1972 D100.

No, a 225 slant six. I'm going back in the next day or two, to see if that car has the stainless rear window trim still. I can't believe I didn't look when I was there a few days ago.

You should pull that dash pad from that dart and sell it to me. Looks to be in decent shape.

That's a '63 Dodge, but not a Dart. 1963 was the first year for the A-body Darts; this is one of the "downsized standard" Dodges (119" WB) that Chrysler rushed to production to combat what the big bosses thought was the new direction of GM- the Chevy II. Hard to tell with no trim, but with the slant, I'd say this is the entry level Dodge 330. Mid level was the 440, then came the Polara and Polara 500. Top of the heap was the Chrysler-based (122" WB) 880 and Custom 880.

Looks pretty solid and straight to my Northern eyes- cool car.

Here's an example of one of the '62-'63 Mopes that refute claims that the '64 LeMans GTO was the "first muscle car"..

In case anyone else is interested, here in the information on the yard.

Their business card lists the following address which you could mapquest.

4497 W. Hwy. 190

Belton, TX 76513

Open 7 days a week

3000+ cars on 23 acres

(254)939-6700

No one under 18 is permitted in the yard, even if accompanied by an adult/parent, which sucks because my son wants to go badly. You must have your own tools. Cost is $2 to enter the yard. At the counter when you pay to enter, they have yard maps available with a parts price list on the reverse side.

Kinda looks like a "Pic-a-Part" in which LKQ took over.
There are always Darts and Dusters at the one on Northville in Houston. They crush them quick tho!

My son and I went back to the yard today and removed the stainless trim from the rear window today. The black paint will have to be removed eventually. We also pulled a passenger mirror from a Duster and a dome light lense that we needed. Next weekend we hope to go pull the cars brakes, (front and rear) as well as the rubber portion between the rear bumper and the body. Ours is dry-rotted the this yard car has an intact one.

Today we made our way back to the Budget Pick and Pull. My son removed the rubber strip between the bumper and body which on our Dart is dry-rotted and falling apart. This car was in tact and we had not been able to find one through Year-One or the Paddock so we quickly took this part. The front seat was very firm and didn't sag like we were sitting on the floor so we grabbed it as well. I know it's from a 4-door but we never planned on people sitting in the back of the Swinger anyways so we pulled the front seat as well as the back seat since neither had rips or tears. Next came the front brake rotors. Our Swingers are pretty bad, (grooved). The drums on this 4-door were ruined so we left them but we did pound out some wheel studs that we needed for the Swinger. We also found a 6 blade "flex-fan" blade on a 318 powered truck that I believe should bolt right onto the Swinger. We cleaned it this evening and will polish it up this week and install it before the car show.
After we were done with the Dart, we headed over to a truck to remove a chrome bumper to replace the crappy metal/white one on my 1972 D100 that I will be starting on this summer.
We plan to attend a car show next weekend, (the 22nd) with the Swinger. It is sponsored by a local Dodge dealership, Dodge Country here in Killeen. The show runs from 1100-300pm. I'll be sure to post more pictures as we go.

I sure would like to have the rest of that disc brake set up. Nothing like that shows up at our Pull A Part yards.

Never mind they are big bolt. Someone could definately use them and the upper control arms.

Went back to the Pick and Pull today which I do every now and then but now it's called "Belton Wrench-A-Part", aka;BWAP. I was looking for anything for the 74 Swinger or the 72 D100. What I found makes me want to cry at times! Power Wagons, Red Express, Warlock, Ramcharger and all of them barely able to provide many parts anymore. First though I'll start with the little Valient. I couldn't find and data plates anywhere, so what year is this car. I took the only decent hubcap to polish up and hang on the wall so so I could save some small part of this car.
The green Warlock is what I got my Tuff-Wheel out of a few months back. Now it's bed is gone and many other parts as well.
The Power Wagon sure brought back memories of the early eighties! Notice the tree sticking out of the nose? It grew up through the truck and was cut off and brought to the yard still attached! This truck appeared to have a 6inch lift as well. Bet it was a beast in the day. What threw me though was the exhaust stacks in the bed, much like a Lil-Red Express would have had. They appeared to be stock due to the cut-outs in the bed sides. Did power wagons have stacks?
Finally we have a real nice aftermarket steering wheel I found in a 87 pickup. I forgot my steerwheel puller so I used a small hacksaw and cut it loose from the column. Took a while but I got it! More pictures coming shortly.

Wow you guys have nicer cars in the junkyard than we have to restore here in the rust belt!:munky2:

This was the saddest find of the day. A "Lil-Red Express", (LRE) that was beyond saving. Obviously a fire had ravaged the truck years ago and then it sat out in the elements for a long time as the rust holes in the roof show. The wood bed was shot and even the chrome step on the beds side was rusted through. I always wanted one of these trucks so here's what I did, I pulled the chrome valve covers off the engine and plan to clean and polish them and hang them on my garage wall. Looking at the carb, it must have been one hot fire because the carb partially melted. Notice an ignition key tied to the rusty steering wheel? Well I took it too, (even though I'm not sure it went to this truck) so I now at least have a key and valve covers to a LRE, haha.
Now the green truck. At first I thought it was an old Army issue truck due to the color which appeared to be olive drab. However when I walked around back of the truck, it said "Ramcharger" under the word Dodge on the tailgate. I thought Ramchargers was the Blazer/Bronco looking trucks?

you should go back to that 75 dart and also grab the disc brake spindles and LBJ upper control arms.....those are worth saving....

You asked what year is the Valiant, it's '63.

Seeing a cool old Mopar in a junkyard makes me sad too.

HEY!
If the tan colored inside drivers door panel on the 75 4 door dart is good, I could really use that on our Dart!!!
If ya get a chance to pull it and get a shipping estimate to 47001, I would buy it from you. Let me know if you can get it and it's good!
Thanks!!

That one in the 6th pic from the top....is a Mitsubishi Scorpion...GH model from 80/81....had a 2.6lt 4cyl with either a 5sp manual or a 904.
A mate of mine's sister has one, with the 904....like hens teeth here.

Goldfish65, thanks for the year on the Valient. Only 1 year newer than me, haha.

To those interested in the 4-door Dart, it is gone and I assume it was crushed once the yard determined all that was pullable had been removed, sorry.

ef8340, I will try and get back to the yard Monday and see if that air filter houseing is still there. I can't gaurantee anything but I will try. Do you have a LRE?
