Change in plans. Another new build begins

I`ve got a friend that I grew up w/ that has a flow bench, they are very informative and interesting, would love to have one myself, but he takes care of me , so I don't really need one . I have seen the weather make a pretty big diff. on his too.

My second flowbench with manometers had a formula that you were supposed to use to convert your numbers over to account for weather changes. Heck on that I want to do a flow test and immediately see whether I helped or hurt a port.

It’s always nice when you want to advance your cam 4 degrees and it comes in dead nuts on your first attempt. I ordered a new Cloyes Billet true roller timing chain over a week ago and don’t ask me why but things take forever to get here from Summit in Nevada and it wasn’t scheduled to get here till this coming Monday so I called and ordered a Sum-G6603R-B
78503-9R Summit Billet set. It’s a very nice setup with made in America on both pieces. I will put the Cloyes set up to use in my next build

Well my ferrera 2.05 valves came last week but instead of taking the time to do some more work to this set of heads I’m confiscating my best set of Edelbrock heads that I loaned to my son for this engine since he’s not sure when he can race again. I never poured an intake runner so I did that tonight and it’s at 194 cc.

This set hit 318 cfm with a 2.08 valve and on my worn out 408 went 9.74 in my car and 10.03 in my sons Duster. I ran a Super Victor on this engine but being this is only a 360 I’m going to port a Victor340 I have sitting here for it.

These heads are an old set of open chamber 340 style that I bought damaged from a guy on Moparts for 450.00 then I spent 150.00 for the 2.08 valves

Just wondering. Why was your sons car slower with the same engine?

Posting pictures of the future porting work?

Off topic a bit but how is your duster that light.
Is it all fiberglass. Where is the bulk of that weight savings.
I have never weighed my Dart and am just trying to make a comparison.

Lol. It’s heavy now as it used to be 2550 back when my son was driving it. (He’s a little lighter than me). I also removed the fiberglass doors and put stock steel doors with wind up windows, alternator, RacePak and wiring, R3 block, exhaust and mufflers, and a few other things to make it my easy to race old man’s car.

Hmm mine might be a similar weight then, minus the driver lol.

Well my project sure came to a stop due to a bad case of lazy azz. I had a Doctor checkup last week and before I went I had blood drawn so my test results would be done for my checkup. It all came back good but when I told him how bad I’ve been felling he had 3 more tubes of blood taken to do more testing. Those results came back good so being I had a heart attack in 2000 and lost 1/4 of my heart I am scheduled to have a stress test Tuesday. I’m Not really up to finishing this engine and putting it in so I drained my oil from my 3 year old 422, drained the transmission fluid, and cut my oil filter apart. All looks great so if my stress results come back ok I will be racing my Duster with this engine for now.

Damn PBR. Hope all comes out well. Life is short. You've got to take care of yourself!

keep it up
cheers

Thanks guys hopefully it’s just lack of exercise and being to fat. Back in 2015 I was walking 4 miles a day 5-6 days a week but some issues in mid 2016 prevented me from doing that. I’ve been trying to hit the gym 2 days a week and walking 1-2 miles 3 days a week trying to get my get up and go back. Tomorrow should tell the story.

I wish you luck. Maybe you just need to take it easy for a while.
Don,t rush the project.

Well my stress test results came back good so the Doctor said to keep walking and hitting the gym tomorrow. So if I get the oil and transmission fluid changed, carb rebuilt, new seatbelts in, Trailer emptied out and frontend back on I may be able to go Racing Saturday. But my walks and gym workouts gotta come first. Car comes in second.
