Hi my name is Andy and i just joined this forum looking for info on fitting this set of wheels on my 68 valiant if posted incorrectly my apologys

SVE Mustang Anniversary Wheel Kit - 17x9/10 - Anthracite (94-04)

I like those wheels. Looked at them myself.

You will need to post what front suspension setup you are running as well as what rear axle. Need more info than just what spring relocation kit you have or are willing to run.

Here is a huge thread on 17" wheels, might be useful - Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

The biggest issue you will run into on the front is the tie rod end. The wheels I run are 17x8 with a +30mm offset which has less backspacing than the wheels you are looking at, and seem to be a safe wheel with low numbers of people hitting the tie rod end. But the number who have issues goes up pretty fast when you move up in backspacing. I know of one other guy who ran a 17x9 with +24mm offset and didn't say anything about having an issue but there is no way to be sure without buying them and see.

There is also the issue of the wheel hitting the upper balljoint or, with large BS or camber, the upper control arm when at full lock and droop.

Best suggestion is see if you can buy or borrow a cheap wheel with the same spec's and try it.

Worse case you could buy the wheels and accept that you might have to make other changes to make them work.

Do you have 4 1/2" bolt circle on your Valiant? THose Mustang wheels are metric and close to 4 1/2".

Good point on the question about having the big bolt pattern.

To be clear, 114.3mm is exactly 4.5", so they are an exact match and technically not metric.

Which does bring up another issue, the hub most likely will not fit through the center bore of the wheel requiring either the hub/rotor to be turned down or the the wheel opened up to fit.

I'm running the us car tool relocation kit in the rear and was looking at tubular upper control arms to hopefully save space up front and i am running 5x4.5 all the way around with an 81/4 out of 73 dart sport

also if I ran hotchkis or some other heim style joint for tie rod would that spare some room as well?

Maybe, but not sure.

Your avatar makes me wonder if you are already running 17” wheels? Or is that not your car?

Your right on the wheel center hole being to small. I've been using Crown Vic 16" wheels and tried a late 80's Lincoln LSC 16" wheel and in both cases only a minor amount of material, about a 16th (.06) around the circumference, had to be removed for them to fit over the Mopar hub center. It was a lot easier to grind off the soft aluminum than machining the cast iron rotor.

If you’re using mustang rims, you’ll need to check the hub concentric. The Mustang hub diameter is thinner than the Mopar and SOME mustang rims won’t fit
