My wife made the trek, thanks darling. The other side is same as this; the quarter is gone there as well. And I see the rear valence is now rotten too. I have the front valence here at home in a shed, with the bumpers, and seats. The rear A56-finish panel is on my hotrod, along with the FormulaS badges.
I bought that car from the second owner in June of 81. It's coming 35 years that I've called her mine. I spun a rod bearing in about 87, and she's been on blocks ever since.
In 97 when I started thinking about spending money on a muscle car, I had this one and a 68 slanty car, which was in much better shape. And since it was a slanty-car I figured It would be no loss to the world if I crashed it, so she got the nod. I never did crash her, but she spent most of the first year spinning out pretty regularly, lol.
A few years ago the town brought in a bylaw that made everybody clean up all their "projects". That's when I sent the 69 to stay at my daughters farm, about a half hour away. I always wanted to get her spruced up, but life got in the way, lol. Family first and all that. Now, at age 64, the urge is fast waning.

So, you’d be able to make a complete car before sending it along, correct? If I remember correctly you had said something similar to that if not that exactly earlier in this post or in a previous post. If that is in fact the case, then you can make the car complete again, how complete are we talking?

I'mBaaaack. We had a 35th birthday party for my middle daughter, today!
Ok so I'm thinking.....
I think the only things missing are; the dash, the dash-pad,the bumperettes, the battery lol,the oem trans and convertor, the tires, and maybe the driveshaft.Oh yeah, I sold the oem throttle cable bracket, many years ago, well I still haven't been paid . I will edit here,if I think of anything else.

As to the dash,
I could supply a rebuildable core.
The trans was originally a 727TF, it's long gone. I have a core.As to the convertor, I think I can scare something up, but it may not be a 340 one.
Alternatively I could supply a 904, and TC and then I have a driveshaft.
The engine is tore down.I think it is the original, but I'd have to research it.It is a rebuildable standard bore core. It has the original log manifolds.
The rear end
is also tore down, and had a good running 3.23. I can supply a reconditioned cone-type SG. I have the original saggy rear springs.
The brakes are likely to be junk, but I can supply all the original type parts.
I can scare up some wheels, but they may not be date coded right. But they might be.....I think I got the car with the original painted steel wheels.
I could probably scare up cores for the starter, alternator and power steering box as well as a booster.I think I still have the oem carb, and just maybe the distributor.
I can recondition or rebuild or have rebuilt for you, any mechanical stuff.
So bottom line is I believe I can supply the parts to make a complete car, except for the missing parts in the bold blue. I'll think on it a bit more, and if anything changes . I'll add it here in this post with in an edit so you can catch it.
So let me review my thoughts.
Questions?

To be continued

You know, I have to be honest. There will need to be a cash payment that comes with a car of that condition... both of mine are more complete and in much better condition. Shoot.

You won't get an argument outta me Mike.
The questions are;
firstly, do you want to dig into this old girl?
and secondly, I think you said your FB is a complete car,
but will cannucky be satisfied with the completeness of your notch
and thirdly, what's it gonna cost me?
And fourthly, neither cannucky nor I, are in a hurry, but what about you?
For me to gather everything up at this time of year is a bit of a problem. A Spring-time delivery, for a complete car, would be way better, although delivery of the shell in the pictures, could be done right away.
Google-map says that you are only about 4 hours away, and it looks like I would have to make two trips for sure.
So here's how I envision this working for me, see what you think of this;
First we get the money issue, and details, settled.
Then I'd like to get the FB shipped off to Preoria for 68383GTS to get started on.
Then I bring my 69 down,do a little meet and greet, and swap it for the notch. I'll make my 69 into a roller for ease of loading; is your notch a roller?
Next, when 68 in Preoria is done with the FB, he ships it back to you.
Then I make the second trip, bringing the rest of my 69 down, and loading up the FB.
And finally, we have a little sit-down around the barbee, swap some stories, and finalize the details.
Since I'll be sitting around all winter, waiting for the FB car, If you like, I can turn these cores into drop-ins. I'll be pulling the powertrain outta my hotrod and freshening it up anyway, so my workshop will be nice and roasty-toasty.
And then, a year or two later, after we're all three finished with these projects, we can plan a get-together, and see how things worked out. Cannucky you'll be invited too, and by then you'll be in Ontario, so probably close enough to make it a day-trip. I gotta warn you guys tho,I'll be coming with my 367HO,overdrive,and I got 325s for those mini-tubs.....I hope to have the car in paint by then, lol.
Oh, and, Mike; if you decide that my 69 is just more than you want to get into, just say so. You'll actually be saving me a lotta; work, time, and money, lol. There will be no hard feelings on my part.

So those are my thoughts.
Yours?

What would you all think about my two cars going for a payment and leaving your 69 to rest in place where it’s at currently?

PlanB?
Well I thought it might come to that, and so, I've been working on that as well. Are you getting any bites from others?
I got a couple of pans in the fire here,so I'll turn up the heat and see how it cooks up.

My conversations with you and what we’ve been trying to work out or a serious as it has gotten with me trying to sell these two cars. I like the idea of my two cars going to someone who will work them put them back together and enjoyed them and there’s no doubt that you two gentlemen will do just that. I would sure enjoy to work something out with that the two of you. It is unfortunate that I have to sell them at all but, with five kids things get expensive real quick.

Five kids, Mike your wife has been a busy girl. What are their ages?
I had 3 in the early 80s, and those were tough enough times. I wouldn't want to be raising 5 in today's world. Two of mine just started their families, and by February, Grandkid #4 will be arriving. I remortgaged the house so I could help them out by supplementing their income, else I would have sent you cash a long time ago.
Yeah so, I've got a couple of different guys interested in the 69, and one interested in my 68 hotrod; I'll turn up the heat.

In the meantime, cannucky is still very interested in the notch, his cash is ready to go. If you had to guess, how would you think to split the purchase price between those two cars? What I mean is, If you sold them both for the full $5000 asking price, what portion would you say would go to each car. I would kindof need to know how deep I'm getting into it for. From the few pics of the notch, it's hard for me to assign a value to it, as compared to the FB, which is easy to ascertain from the previous build pics. I'm guessing the FB will be the higher value car, but by how much?
Cannucky has expressed a willingness to share the costs of me getting the cars into Canada, but it still has to be fair to all parties; I don't ever want to be thought of as a thief, or worse, called one.
I know you said the FB is a complete car less driveshaf, but how about the notch? And are they both rollers, sitting on wheels? As in easy to load?

Both cars have tires and differentials on the rear, in the front they have casters mounted where the number would sit... both cars are 95% complete. I say that because the perishables still need to be replaced. I.e. carpet and such.

The notchback doesn’t have a drivetrain. If it sells as is I would sell it for $2000 and the fastback for $3000... it pains me to sell at this produce as I bought the notchback for $3500 and the fastback for $5000. So I will be out on my butt either way they sell but I have accrued some debt moving as much as I have and again with the family size of 7.

This genuinely sucks but I’d like to see these cars go to passionate experts such as the two of you.

Oh, and the ages of my children are 8, 6, 4, 3, 1. Busy but amazing and beautiful mom she certainly is!

OK Thanks Mike, that's what I needed to know. What powertrain was originally in the notch?

Oh boy; 20 more years.....................................at least,lol.

Nevertheless, congratulations.

273/904 with a 7 1/2 rearend? The non 8.75 one. Hah
Cannucky, are you catching this?
I have cores for any-sized SBM,several 904/998s including a rebuilt clone to a 71Demon which is the best shifting trans I have ever come across, and I also have one spare 8.75 which could be loaded with anything from 2.76 to 3.23s, and/or slightly noisy 3.55s; open or SureGripped, as well as a SureGripped 7.25. Furthermore, I could supply cores for front disc brakes, and/or a 73 spool-mount K. And if your a wild and crazy guy, I have a BB, 68 K, and a 383 core
Yeah I have been collecting parts since the 70s.
So it looks like I could be your one-stop shopping center, lol, and
it wouldn't take much to bring the notch up to speed.

Ive also got a fully rebuilt high horsepower 383 with tti full headers and the engine bay wiring harness and motor mounts... everything to make the conversion. But it’s going to cost a bit, sorry but I’ve got $5000 in the motor.

... it will likely follow me to the grave. ‍♂️

I’d like to pass along my phone # to you if you’d rather text. I will leave the more of communication to you.

68, you know I can help you with that, lol.

Sorry Mike,I cant do the 383, but you could maybe tell a little about it for cannucky;
like heads, cam, and compression ratio,so I can get a feel for as to how it might run.
