what do I need to change on the stock shifter when going to a 440 bb w/727 from a slant 6 w/904, to be able to retain the stock shifter? thanks

i dont think i had to modify mine at all. z bar?linkage that mounts between the body and trans is kind of at an an angle but it works perfectly fine.

I run one with a reverse vb and IIRC I had to bend one the ears on the tranny side of the bell crank to clear the CPPA headers. I even ran mechanical kickdown linkage before I got the Cheetah vb and it required some tweaking but it worked. I may even have a slight bend upward in the bellcrank itself too but I do know for sure that you can make it work.

I think on mine, which was 74 /6 linkage, I had to make a new mount for the bellcrank on the tranny side with a piece of flat stock and part of the stocker mount.

It took just a little amount of time and it works good. Everything is level etc.
