OK guys I've hit a snag. I'm putting my slant back together after a rebuild and I'm having an issue with the cam. I'm not exactly sure of the problem since my friend is timing the cam but apparently there is something different about the key way and the van needs to be installed 6 degrees but the key way or something won't let it. Can only be installed 4 degrees. Then he said something about needing to drill the timing sprocket to make the holes line up. Anyone understand any of this? I need to talk with him about it but I'm not hood with timing a cam so I dunno much about it. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like it needs a better quality timing set. Look for "JP" or "Rollmaster". They are one in the same.

So no one has had to do anything special to get this cam on 6 degrees? Wat about this special offset bushing comp sells that one of the guys on .org is telling me I need?

this cam right?

ok so you have an LSA of 110* and a intake centerline of 106*

i would only adv it 4-6*(100-102*)

so now explain what you are doing and what you have...

what timing set do you have?

where did the cam degree in at with sprockets set @ 0*??

it is normal to have very off numbers because of manufacture tolerances... i had to retard my sprockets 4* to get +4* adv lol... i was @ 98 staight up instead of 106...
