Compression

-
I tested it with and without the tubes. And it was a brand new tester. It is smoking blue gray smoke. Just started smoking not too long ago.

So last night I started taking apart my motor.

1.The head gasket was blown in two places, between cylinder 5&6 and also between cylinder 6 and the area for the pushrods.

2. I also think the valve stem seals need replacement.

3. Cylinder 6 seems to be the one with the bad rings....it has alot of oil on the cylinder wall. All the others seem normal.

What's the the best way to get crud off the valves and other parts?

The best way to clean valves is glass bead blasting them. Makes them look like new. If you don't have access to that, then a wire wheel on a bench grinder will do....but take the necessary safety precautions.....safety glasses and gloves. They have a nasty reputation for letting the wire wheel snatch them outta your hands. Is this engine going to get a complete rebuild? If not, you're just askin for trouble.

Does it look like this inside???????

Thanks everyone for the help! I pulled the engine out and did all you guys suggested. She screams now! Can't wait to start doing power adders!:burnout:
