I got some new Cragars for my Barracuda, but there seems to be a shortage of lug nuts available anywhere I look. Seems they're all on back order. Does anyone know the specs on the proper ones for my application and where they are available? I think I read somewhere the new ones are different from the ones back in the day. Angled washers maybe?

Thanks

Ouch, I would Contact Cragar for specifications. Or you could slip them on and do some measuring. Still have left handers?

No the lug nuts are all swapped out. I can't seem to find them anywhere. Do the new wheels require a special angled washer?

They have a thinner shank, if they are going on 5x4". Special lug nuts, I have them on my 71 swinger. It appears everyone is OUT OF STOCK!

Did you get the ones that use the mag nuts with the shank, or the acorn ones?

When I bought my cragars a few years ago they hand two types of wheels, the ones that used mag nuts with shanks, and the ones that used acorn taper style lug nuts. I was curious which type wheels you had.

Pretty sure I need the shanked ones, 7/16 x 20 is what it looks like.
It looks like the shank diameter is .592 where standard Cragar nuts sold are listed as .680. Special ones for the early A. It sucks they are on back order (like many items now days) but you will need the correct ones. You could start a wanted ad here on FABO and maybe someone has a used set to get you by but If you have new wheels you will want new nuts I would say.

I have 10 of the cragar 9004 small left hand ...new old stock.....I bought and ended up needing fatter shank so I changed the driver side studs to rt hand thread.
If you're interested in these let me know.
Welcome to FABO We don't sell and buy on General forum threads. You will need to start a sale thread in the proper forum. Make sure you read and follow the sale rules there. Thanks

I looked at the wheels and the mounting surface looks flat. There seems to be 2 washer options and one is tapered but doesn't look like I would need those. Correct?

I can't answer that. I didn't know there were tapered washers available. Get the correct ones that Cragar recommends. Now, looking at the photo, if the mounting surface around the lug nut hole is the same dimension, I would think the flat washers are what you would want.

I called Cragar and their best guess was Cragar a-09005-4 7/16-20 shanked nuts with standard washers. That sounds painful.

I have original shanked nuts on my '65 Dart with original Cragars mags, but they are even smaller than the studs on the Barracuda.

I stand corrected, the washers are not tapered, but "Offset oval/Center oval."
