Does anyone see a convertible top in the photos?

I see cut C pillars and a speaker shelf which completely fills the space in back of the seat and from side to side.

I see no top, no mechanism, no frame.

Maybe its a Carson top?

(playing devils advocate :p)

That is most likely why it never got a top or glass after three years. There has to be a place for the mechanism to fold down and that would require body modification. It may have been the owner walked in and said I need a new top and glass for my Nova much like we get guys that say my brakes don't work but give absolutely no details.

Looks fun. Put some slicks on it, create a big hoop style rollcage, and punch it. Car goes up, all the way over, and back on the tires... repeat. $300 sounds about right ;)

Well , I think that Krusty the Klown would dig on it , or even Peter Griffin perhaps .

Where did he take it to have "work" done to it ; Pep Boys' Customs or some thing like that ?

I remember seeing a few of those "Shortie" '55-'57 Chevy 4 door wagons around as a kid ! Thought they were okay back then ; not too bad these days . At least those were the result of taking an undesirable ( by most ... not me ! ) 4 door wagon and making something "acceptable" of it . Some of them --with the right combo of colours and and wheels-- actually looked really nice .
But *this* monster ... :shaking2:
