A 408 stroker would be perfect. They fit with no modifications and can be pretty "tame" when you want that, but put out a lot of power when you want that.

As to my 340, I'd say it runs a little better than a stock 340, just due to the Edelbrock heads, and all the other typical hot rod stuff it has inside it. I don't think the .060 overbore is affecting it much, but it does have 10.2 extra extra cubic inches.

Forced induction

Never again lol, I've had turbo and super charged vw's and audi's and those little buggers require too much tuning.

My daily driver jeep and my wifes Tijuan are both turbo 4cyl engines though. They get great gas mileage and havent given us any problems, but both still under warranty lol.

Yes stroker, that's my goal right there!

@70aarcuda says aluminum heads are great! So maybe one day ill have to get some of his cast offs :D:p

I still owe him so free shop hand work, we have our break coming up in 2 weeks so hopefully he allows me over to help him out. I mean, I'm really good a breaking stuff too.

Hi guys. How do I start a thread? Thanks.

So I do everything on my phone but I'm sure its the same on a PC.

Go to the sub-forum you want to start a thread in (member restorations, general talk, etc) and on the top right there is a button you click that says "post new thread." Give it a title then add some words in the box and you sir have created a thread.

Started the car today, needed to let the fluids cycle a bit. Took a little priming and a couple minutes but it fired right up and sounded just as good as when I parked it.

I also traced my fuel line, its somewhat close to the passenger exhaust where the exhaust passes over the rear end. Its probably around 2 inches from the exhaust. So when I redo the lines ill have to figure out how/where to install it, keeping it as far from everything hot as I can. The fuel sending unit also looks pretty grimey..

doc - it you continue to wait till it cools down then do all this work will you really know if it solves your problem? seems like a little more troubleshooting might be worthwhile while its still nice and toasty

I know, we are on break in after this next week. Ill probably mess with it a little over the break.

A: i would replace that old hose soon. make sure the tanks near empty and have everything ready to go or you might dump quite a bit of gas when you pop the old one off. also, do it outside and have a pan ready to catch the mess.
B: you can heat wrap the line without too much heat stroke :D

Yea ill probably do the lines at some point in the near future. Lines aren't to expensive and i know how to bend/flare it now :D
I have some of that thermoshield tape and the stuff gets hot and still melts off... at least it did on my headers.

One more semester down and only 2 more to go!!! Im stoked and definitely ready for the schooling to be over!

Not working on the car today. My wife told me this morning she had a nightmare. When I asked what it was about she replies "you broke something on the purple car and all the sudden a tow truck showed up. I asked what was going on and your reply was, dont worry its only 10k to have it fixed and repainted, then the car will be officially finished. Ps I already paid for it..."

Needless to say, I woke up having not even done anything in real life for the day to be in trouble and make her mad at me... YET she was still mad at me

I'm smoking some meat today. So she will be happy when she is eating my meat later...

That guy did an amazing job putting A/C in his car. And...he did a better job documenting the fabrication and install.

I'm going to be looking at the same one.
