Well just got the 360 back from the machine shop they degreed the cam it was 4 degrees retarded,so he said he installed it at 1 degree retarded.the cam card said 4 advance.

All i know he said it was 1 retarded and as the chain stretches it will go to 0.
Are you sure that's what was said? Ask again. The theory is right about the chain relaxing a degree, but was this instead is what was said "the cam will retard its self a degree because of chain stretch and then the timing will become zero". The word retard placed in the wrong context and we've got a totally misunderstood meaning.All i know he said it was 1 retarded and as the chain stretches it will go to 0.
Ask .. What is my intake centerline set at? Or.. What did you degree my intake centerline at?OK just what should i ask him Monday to get this cleared up.
Ok will call Monday morning.From the cam card it should of had 4* advance right.Thats great for top end power,and retard is for bottom end power ,right or am i wrong.
You have it backwards.... advance for low RPM torque....And CB is correct on the cam timing retarding more as the chain stretches.
JUST called he says it is set at 105.Ask .. What is my intake centerline set at? Or.. What did you degree my intake centerline at?
