Funny but true.
I don't care about any of that stuff either. But if I'm hiring, you ain't gettin the job if you're stupid. In my line of work, I don't care if your black, white, purple or polka dotted. Man, woman, or somewhere in between. What matters is integrity, and can you DO THE JOB. Can I rely on you to have my back with the ish hits the fan? Can you perform your tasks proficiently? Do you have self accountability and strong character?
Too many professions these days are just trying to "check boxes" and have forgotten they have a service to provide. Whether you're working on an oil rig or at the mine or at the fire department, if you put an *** in a seat, they better be able to perform.
IMO, it all started with the public school system. They keep dumbing down courses so everyone can pass. There is incompetence everywhere I am wondering if it is DEI or if society has been dumbed down

I think both. What's unfortunate is that too many people are labeled sexist/racist/phobic if they don't think standards should be lowered to allow for more hires. There is incompetence everywhere I am wondering if it is DEI or if society has been dumbed down
Same goes for the fire department. 10-20 years ago, city departments had so many applicants, they would use stadiums and arenas for their testing processes. Tens of thousands of applicants for 50 positions. Now they're lucky to get a few hundred for the same number of open positions.Las Cruces, NM just agreed to a $20 million payout to the family of an individual gunned down by a rogue cop. There is another case pending where a 72 y/o elderly woman was gunned down by a clearly trigger happy cop. Another fairly "green" cop was killed by a deranged "homeless" individual with a knife. Yep it certainly seems the quality of applicants has declined. Decades ago, when personally applied for certain positions, they were more than happy to quickly disqualify applicants likely due to the fact they were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of applicants back then.
Yessir. And they're removing vocational classes and allowing kids to wear cat ears and "meow" because they identify as a cat, but baseball hats aren't allowed. Just sad.IMO, it all started with the public school system. They keep dumbing down courses so everyone can pass.
Yeah, we caint have any fellas lookin like redneck white boys.Yessir. And they're removing vocational classes and allowing kids to wear cat ears and "meow" because they identify as a cat, but baseball hats aren't allowed. Just sad.
I've long said that women shouldn't be street cops or in our fighting military. I'm sure though, I'm a dinosaur with those thoughts and that's fine.did anyone ever see the video of a male cop getting over run by a perp and the female was standing there watching gun/ taser drawn and the male cop was basically screaming "are you going to do something or what...help..." the point I'm making is they say "anyone can do it" about alot of jobs but it just isnt true.
Local municipalities have law enforcement's hands so tied, they can't even sneeze on someone without facing charges. IMO, police should be allowed some leeway to knock some noggins if the need be and the need is there.First let me say I don't think all departments and areas are the same. in the liberal sanctuary b******* city that I worked in I felt so sorry for the officers. I worked hand in hand with them for 4 years in some very challenging scenarios. The disrespect and baiting that they encountered was horrible and very hard on them. Some female officers are very valuable and bring a level of communication and other aspects that can be very hard for a man to achieve. But then again some are just chaotic filler. I'm proud to call these two officers my friends.

Like our soon to be former Vice President, for example.Competency is the key word, too many individuals try to "fake it until they make it". The problem with this in law enforcement is that there a lives on the line. I know of a lot of officers who threw their hands up and walked away because of hiring departmental incompetency.

What's the point? They will not have learned a thing. They do it here and call it "administrative placement".^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This, right here, is 100% the absolute truth! Here in Canada kids aren't 'allowed' to fail, they just get pushed on through the system regardless.
Cruelty to animals! I got $5!!And here's the original clip, uncut and unedited.
