Can I use a Saginaw pump on a steering box in a Dart that currently has a Federal Pump? Or do the pump and steering box have to match? Thank you

The only thing that I can think of is the flow and pressure need to be enough for the gear.

If either pump was on the years of cars that had the same gear you should be good to go.

The PS boxes are all pretty much the same in that regard- just make sure you use the right pressure hose for your pump (year and application).

When functioning properly, any of the factory installed pumps will be more than adequate for a stock steering box, even a Firm Feel unit.
The aftermarket steering boxes like the Borgeson do need more pressure. The Saginaw units are the best for that.

The box is the same for a single year regardless of pump
