dodge dart 1969 ladder bars

I'm a little confused on axle center line. Is that vertical up and down in center of tube or horizontal center line of you understand what I mean.
 
center of the axle tube is the same...up down..front or back....

an 8 3/4 axle tube is 3 inch in diameter...measure from the front of the tube and add 1.5 inches...
 
Thank you for explaining that I kept thinking just center of tube on the outside of tube towards the front of the car measure forward to the rod end

Are you still running ladder bars or have you went to caltracs? I never seen a picture of ladder bars set up on a Mopar before...
 
all 3 cars have ladder bars on them....with DA coil over shocks..
