This car was run around Southern California in the early 80's. I would like any information on this car - does it still exist? Who built it?

Thanks - Jim

Have you tried getting a hold of any of the sponsors labeled on the car?..

I seem to remember a Jim Meyer, but no details.
Looks to be an old pro stock car.
Go over to C Bodies Only and post your question.
There are some old farts over there (me included) who remember stuff like that.
Good luck with your search.
There is also a public facebook page with old pro stock cars, you might find someone who knows!
Nostalgia Pro Stock
Valiants Rule!

Thanks

No, I have not tried to contact Jim Meyer yet but I do have some contact with J&M Speedcenter and will be talking to them about it.

I did not want to pollute the conversation with stuff I can find with Google but, yes, I do suspect that it started life as a Pro Stock car. I'm kinda interested to know if it's the one that lost to Lee Shepherd in the first round at the 80 Winternationals.

Thanks for pointing me towards the C Body forum and the Facebook page - mesmerizing photos!

Was wondering if it was the same car. I found word that it might be restored now?

70aarcuda - that would be great!

Very similar for sure. Not to hijack your thread, but here is my car at the same track in the second picture!

72 Dodge Colt. They were bracket racing it that day. It had been as fast as 8.43 @ 161.

Well, anyway, this is why I asked in the first place. It was my brother Bob's car after Jim Meyer sold it to him. I'd just like to know whether it is still around.

I remember the Meyer car very well from OCIR but vaguely remember it as your Brothers.

I was also going to suggest Bob Mazzolini:

Thanks, Hemioutlaw, that's just what I was looking for. The only listing I had for Jim Meyer was in Oregon and was no good. Of course, anything you remember, or about OCIR in general, I'd like to hear about it.

LOL. I know the Jim Meyer from Oregon if he's the one that owns a chassis shop. He used to own a Yamaha shop I used to hang out at when I was young. Damn I'm old.

Hello, I know this thread is a few years old but I literally stumbled upon this late the other night while trying to Google information on this same car. My name is Dallas Leininger and my father purchased this car from your brother Bob around 1986

Hello, I know this thread is over 4 years old but I literally just stumbled across this the other night while doing a Google search for information on the same exact car. My name is Dallas Leininger and my father Rick purchased this car from your brother Bob Harris around 1986. We put the car together and began running it in various events up until the late 90's. We raced it mostly in the ANRA association in the Pro Shoebox class which was a pounds per cubic inch heads up class and we won our fair share of races with the car. After a brief dust up with the guardrail in 1993 at Famoso we "updated" the car and painted it all white and continued to race it for a few more years. The car has pretty much just sat since then but we started the restoration process back in 2010 but halted it as other family matters took priority. I recently have taken possession of the car and I intend to finish the restoration once I get some shop space and time freed up later this year. I only have a couple of photos on my phone but I will try to dig up some more and scan them for everyone to see

Hey Dallas!
I just saw this update. I hope you're listening. Sure fantastic news to hear that you're working on that car. I am currently working on the LA engine out of your car. My Brother Bob had it in his garage. It's a 355 CID X-block with W-2 heads. Also have the headers and engine front plate that fit your chassis. Are you still working with a small block combo?
