E58 400 plus HP Dart sport build

Yeah I may schedule some time here in Tulsa at a dyno and see what I get either it does but it does benefit me with a tuned broke in engine. Save's me the hassle at home in a garage.

If it's in the budget, always good to get them dyno'd. Nothing like having an exxon valdez leaker installed in the car and having to pull it.

Plus the tuning and getting it close with pulls is great. Just because it liked a certain timing on dyno, doesn't mean the same for in the car. great baselines.

No worries, glad to help out. The HEI unit really cleans up the firewall as well and you can get replacement parts near anywhere.
I too have an HEI distributor on my engine. Advance springs sure are easy to change compared to taking the OE distributor apart!

400 should be no prob for a 360 . I have always run stock distributor with no problems besides the ballast resistor , always had a spare in the glovebox . 5 years ago I went with the FBO ECU , eliminates the ballast and has built in rev limiter , so far no problems
as an aside , never do buy into the mag builds they have bills to pay and guess who pays the bills . They are selling products

Also updated the ignition controller I went with the orange Mopar 6800 rpm unit. Later if choose I will update it pro comp or an MSD ignition.

Should do fine with that ignition. My cam punks out at about 5500 and I have the rev limiter set to 5k for street driving.

You might wanna have your local transmission shop spec in a new converter for ya with that setup... likely need a bit more stall than stock with that cam.

727 actually going to shop for a full rebuild and will get a bigger stall. Not sure 2500 is right few people could not a tell difference with them claims a 2800 is needed. Range is 2500 to 6400 so matched well with some luck. I plan to drive to work whopping 5 miles one way. Other than Owasso drag strip and highway won't see much highspeed weekly.

If you are shifting at 6800 you need 3800 stall.

Changed heads again to speedmaster pce2146 and bolt kit with 1.6 roller rocker.

Other than the crank and rods oil pan not much left of stock. I'm have gotten a little over zealous I should have no issues hitting more then my HP goal now.

Cam kit came nice looking piece of hardware.

lets hope all is good you going to just bolt on the heads ? no work on them ? Are they that much better than stock heads ? also noticed you have power brakes ? what kind of vacuum you get with that cam ?

Heads should be way better than stock with the valve size and CC. Along with heat properties and combustion chamber size and will allow for more compression without detonation. I should be fine on vacuum but I'd if not I have options. I have a set of brand new manual lines for no booster and maybe a wilwood unit or other upgrade later. These allow for much more lift than stock heads and duration. Biggest upgrade is the induction it's not low end as many think. A 34 HP or so gain and more torque with a stroker kit when top end is left stock. Cost to do all the port and bowl work didn't add up for the gains with stock iron head and valves were not 2.02 intake. But it's just a inexpensive build up I won't have but maybe 3500 or less in it.

Did you mean E85 in your title?
Lol that was my question too.... was gonna say for 400hp, a pump gas engine would be alot less BS....being on E85 myself. The corrosive stinky devil it is !
