Has anybody used an Edelbrock D64 dual quad inlet manifold on a 360, I believe they need a modification to fit? What carbs are you using? TIA.

A D64 is made to fit a 64 and 65 273. The bolt holes are smaller than your heads require and they are at a different angle. Also the ports are small. THe 273/318 size. It looks like you would have to enlarge the secondary holes as well. All these differences can be overcome if you choose.

What TMM said, I ran the D64 and D66 back in the mid to late 60's on my 273s

Yes! The bolt holes need to be enlarged, the bolts should have a good amount of RTV on there threads to prevent oil creeping up and out spilling on the intake, milling/grinding the angle of the pad where the bolt head sits when tightened down is helpful.

My buddy Mike on my ‘73-4spd Cúda w/4.10’s. We are doing a little tweaking on the initial set up.

The intake is a little RPM limiting. Ignore it and just have a blast with it. You can not port it out to the larger head port size. You can maximize it only so far. It’ll rip.

I used all Edelbrock stuff. Linkage, fuel line, air cleaner, twin 600’s & of course, the intake. It sat up top a .030 - 360 with KB-107’s at zero deck and Edelbrock heads for a 11-1 compression.
The cam was a solid flat tappet Comp 294S, rockers were a Comp 1.5 roller rockers. Hooker Super Comp 1-3/4 headers into a 2-1/2 exhaust.

Better grab a 360 intake gasket and slap it on the D64 to see if its feasible. I grabbed an Offy DQ for the 340 I'm building, and no way in hell I would trust the gasket to stay put lol.

If you bolt the D64 intake to 360 heads, the pic below is how far out of whack the bolt angle will be. Pic was made with an Edelbrock D4B, which was made to fit the 64-65 273 motors like the D64 was. If you use a D66, the flat washer on the intake bolt will be at the same angle as the pad it will hit on the intake.

Here is my D66 with correct rebuilt AFB carbs, linkage, choke, etc and air cleaners that I bought from another member.

I opted for the gold air cleaners although chrome is correct too (just more expensive!).

This setup will be going in my 47 Dodge with a 70’s 318 and 42RH

search in titles for "D-66 questions" and go to post #34 for figures and pics. The correct tapered washer is 8 degrees.

If you guys hear of a D66 being sold I'd like to hear about it, thanks
If you put you a wanted ad up in the classified section, you might luck up on one. We have lots of members. I'd like to think somebody here has one.

I bought a pair of 600 edelbrocks a few years ago off a mob in I think New York state in the US. They specialised in dual carbs etc and they were set up and worked great straight out of the box. I can't remember who they were :(

Porting the D64 to a 340/360 port window, I don’t think it’ll work. In my video above your post, that’s the D64, stock ports on top of Edelbrock heads working just fine.

Edelbrock make both AFB style carbs and AVS style carbs set up as a pair (primary and secondary) for use in a progressive 2 x 4bbl set up. They are targetted at people buying their in line dual quad manifolds for small block Fords and Chevys (and a different set for the Chrysler big block RB inline 2x4 manifold), but other than the linkage adapter that they sell, they should work fine on a small block Mopar. That's what I'm planning to use on my D-66 for my 318, because they come in 500 cfm carbs.

I've been running a dual quad crossram on my 340 using two 500 cfm Edelbrock Performer carbs (AFB style) for many years and they work great, but can't successfully be set up as progressive because the right carb feeds the left bank and visa versa. If these two carbs are more than enough for that engine at WOT, then theoretically they should be plenty for a 340 or 360 at WOT in a progressive set up since (if set up properly) both 500s would be wide open then, too.

I just found the mob that I bought dual Edelbrocks off in 2014,
ALLSTATE CARBURETOR & FUEL INJECTION

When I fitted them that they set up it worked perfectly out of the box.
I messaged them today
