Looking for opinions.

I am considering adding factory adjustable rockers or used adjustable roller rockers to my mildly built 383 (10:1, factory HP cam .450/.458 268/284, eStreet heads, performer, 650 AVS, TTI Shorties and 2.5 in SS exhaust.

Will I get a return on my investment or am I just looking for ways to spend money?

Thanks in advance for your time.

You may not notice any improvement in your performance for the money spend.

While you might see or feel returns, I'm 100% endorsing adjustable rockers, because you can get lifter preload right where it needs to be.

When I put my first BBM together in 1981 I opted for some adjustable pushrods so I could set the lifter preload.

I probably would bother with that these days with as much as they cost now.

If you’re looking at actual “factory” adjustable rockers, I’d thoroughly inspect them, particularly the bores, which are often galled/gouged.

i have seen blocks be off 15 thousandths so if u havent had your block squared up u probably will benefit from using adjustable rockers.

I doubt the butt-meter will feel the difference....but the wallet will.

Pretty hard to beat the factory hydraulic lifter setup. Just bolt on and go.

If I had any kind of performance build, I would consider adjustable rockers a required part, simply because they allow you to equalize the lifter preload. That alone is enough for me, whether or not I could feel or see a performance improvement. Also, if you EVER decide to go to a solid lifter camshaft, guess what? BAM! You already have the rockers. It's just a no brainer to me. I would consider curb feelers, and big stereos "just spending money", but not performance engine parts. That's a good investment.

Not really... do not "invest" in any of this crap... lol...

Now that you have decent flowing heads I would go a bit larger on the camshaft to reap the benefit.
