Father and son restoration 1st car

-
Time to start on this fun part of the project.
Some of the the harness will get eliminated and some will get modified.
Modifications will include trunk mount battery, crackedback's headlight modification, upgraded headlights, LED conversion, wiring new cluster up, replacing melted fuse box with a newer unit, simplifying ignition wiring for ready to run distributor, and a hand full of other things.
For working with electricity for a living I'm not looking forward to this part.

Wiring hates ME!!!!!!
I was dreading wiring my Hardtop. Draw it up on paper, and take your time. By the time I finished mine I was actually enjoying myself. Of course if it had problems I would be singing a different song. I used Dell city electric for some stock they had some terminals and housing for a stock look. (Not that you may be looking for that)

Wow! You guys are like "chop chop chop". I feel I need to get busy on something :D
Awesome job!!!! Look'n Great!!

Hey, just an FYI if you didnt know. On the 73-76 SBP cars, if it has 10" finned drums like the car on the right in the first pic, it has the big ball joint upper arms, all you need is 73-76 disc brake spindles and the other pieces.

Awesome work!!! We will have to get together so I can see this one...

Definitely Right now our goal is to have it done by prom for him. And hit up a Chassis Dyno sometime this summer.

Took a little break from the wiring and polished and installed the windshield and back glass trim.
Left is before right after.

We got the battery relocation done and engine to body ground done.

Just FYI the side post adapter that came with the relocation kit happens to have the same threads as one of the vacant holes in the front of the head. Will give us a nice place to jump car and not hurt the painted suffuses.

I like the post in the block. Where did you get it ? Also, ground to frame or back to Battery?

I believe most parts stores carry them.
Engine to body/ subframe in front and body to battery in trunk. Will also run a 10ga ground from battery past all rear lights to dash and from dash past all front lights. Bonding it to body in a few locations to body.

Wiring from firewall to rear of car done. Just have to run some speaker wires. Some of wiring in engine compartment is in including a wideband A/F meter, witch will be mounted in the glovebox.

Best one I have right at the moment. Not much extra room in the bay we are putting it together in.

Getting closer on the wiring.
Goodbye bucket of BS and hardship. LOL

Wiring is all done for the most part. Everything works except the blower motor. Have to chase down what we missed in hooking it up. It's an ac car without ac for now. Wiring diagram is a bit vague.

Got the heater controls working this evening. Just had to hook one of the "mystery wires" we didn't know where it went when we went through the harness.

Like most questions about A bodies I found this diagram on here. Thanks again everyone.

Glad you guys are good with wiring that's all I can say . . .

All the wiring is squared away and wrapped. Engine bay just needs a good cleaning, but that can wait till the end.
