OK, I tried searching for this on the forms, but I couldn’t find anything specifically

I have a Fel Pro 260–1033 kit

When I got to putting on the oil pan, the rear seal rubber seems really big

Is this normal?

Maybe you could tell us what engine? The part number shows for the 5.9 Magnum. Is that what you have?
EDIT.
I double checked and it seems it's for the 360LA. They had it "5.9". Damn metric system.

That's a seal for a 360. You're not trying to put it on a 278/318/340 are you?

Stupid question, I know.....how sure are you it's a 360?

I used a one-piece gasket in mine but remember that the seal that came in the rebuild kit didn't fit all that well on my 360 either. Actually neither the one-piece or the piece that came out of the kit fit as good as I would've liked. I'd say The Right Stuff(tm) is your ticket here, at least it was for me.

FWIW, it was expensive but it isn't leaking. Mopar Oil Pan Gasket

That's actually what I was gonna recommend. You're right. They ain't cheap, but considering as long as you take care of um, they'll last forever.

Those rubber end seals go in the pan first, then the cork over the top.

Big blocks don't use seals like those.

Thats how both my FSM's suggest it. But the gasket is just too big.

Feels like my options are to either fill the gap with a bunch of RTV (highly problematic), try another rear seal gasket, or buy the one piece.

Appreciate the input all. Glad im not the only one whose had this issue.

Maybe that's a 273/318/340 end seal that got in the box accidentally, or, it's a set for both and is missing the 360 end seal. (maybe it's still in the box somewhere?)

It's interesting that when I look at the kit from Summit, it shows only two seals, and they look the same size in their photos. If I look at the kit on Amazon, it shows three seals, with one being the small one for the 360.

Im going to be breaking the cam in on a makeshift runstand so for now I've cut about 1/4" out of the seal and squeezed RTV in where the pieces meet. I know it'll be frowned upon but it's a pretty tight seal now. If it leaks during breakin I'll swap it before the engine drops back in the car. If it leaks after that, well thats the risk I took.

Felpro is not perfect. I bought a 1 piece pan seal (Chebby) that was too big and leaked. I then bought another one (identical p/n on the seal) and it fit. I sat them side beside and you could see the difference.
