Fender tag decoding

Can anyone tell me what the fender tag code N28 and just the letter U would decode on a 72 340 Demon?

The U would be, built to U.S. specifications...More than likely the N28 is N23, electronic ignition...are you sure it's an 8?? There is no code N28 for 1972....
