Finally getting to it!!! 1970 Duster 340

-
Thanks guys. I'm really happy with how everything has turned out. It's nice when a vision turns into reality. The car is everything that I had hoped it would be. There will still be some bugs to iron out but I'm getting closer to the finish line.

Looks and sounds good and can't wait to see it in person! I'm hoping mine will be ready for Carlisle this year but July is not far away.

John,I hope that you get to drive Mr. Butterscotch soon.
Yep....me too! I got some Accurate Exhaust pieces yesterday from a guy on Craigslist and I dropped them of at Steve's shop and we had a good long talk. He has a Charger to finish the metal work on and is sending it back to the owner and then it sounds like he wants to get mine finished and out of the way next.

The AVS never really gave me any problems on this car. Scott Smith did a great job rebuilding and tuning the car. I just had to adjust the idle speed. I love to hear those vacuum secondaries kick in!

Just stunning. Man you have to be so excited to get it finished and go for that first drive!

Thanks 340mike. Time for me to start applying the side stripes. I might try to get the doors done tonight.

It sounds great, and your interior is beautiful! I have the same seat to go in my Duster, and had planned to use the nice door panels like those in your car. Congrats on being almost done. Your hard work really shows now that it has all come together. :)

Wish you were closer, I'd love to dial in that alignment.

Took care of some odds and ends today. I received a package of parts that I needed to finish the interior. The heater cable went in along with a dash light ( I needed a bulb holder). Defroster hoses, radio and glove box liner installed.
I hope to work on the side body decals tomorrow. The decals that I purchased from Performance Car Graphics are an exact match to my NOS in length and width. I also purchased a couple of Rapid Transit Authority decals for my pop out windows. I thought that they would be a neat addition to the car. It was very humid in PA today so the decals aren't completely dry yet.

That rapid transit decal is cool, where did you get it from?

Kevin! Your car awesome! I don't comment much but I check your updates daily and have enjoyed your thread. I just hope to lay my eyes on it someday. It's sounds like you plan to enjoy it! David

Kevin, the car looks great! i can't tell from the picture but do you have the rubber stops in between the body and rear bumper?

Thanks for the compliments David. I didn't install the rubber bumper stops. The left side tail panel has a lot of seam sealer underneath that prevents the stop from installing flush with the panel. Once the car is roadworthy, were going to take a trip out to see Mike. He's going to work on fixing that area and an area where I chipped the paint on the edge of the passenger door.

I hooked up the license plate light and bracket to the rear bumper. Got out my vintage 1970 PA license plate and installed it. I like the retro look.
