Well I,ve been going like..Jack the bear..getting everything put back on/in the car.I,m very close to firing the car up(friday).I have a couple friends coming over in the morning, one friend will install my new(black)headliner, while my other friend installs the back window.WhooHoo!Just have to re-wire my MSD also wire up my fuel pump.Last on the list is re-installing the door handles, locks, trunk and hood latches.I have to have it running for sure by sunday evening, cause I have to drive it to get the frontend alignment done again after installing RMS UCA,s,hymed struts, and some new steering parts. Will try to remember pics tomorrow.I,m kinda disgusted with myself for trusting a member to do(body/paint)to my car. What a waste of my time and money.disgust.I could,ve done the car myself,in the 6 months it was gone.:angry4:

6 months is an awfully long time Scott, sorry to hear. Plus Nigel's rates are very very good! Glad to see you making great progress!!

The car is looking great and you're fasssst at getting things done. I love the color and looking forward to hearing it come alive again :toothy7:

I remember when we trailered the stripped shell of my Demon to a "friends" shop for some underhood paint. He promised it would be stored inside.....3 days later we showed up and yanked it out of there. It was still sitting out :angryfir:. Just gotta move forward sometimes and make the best of the situation.

Hi C.I got a bunch more done today, engine is turning over, but have a problem with getting power to the ignition.Got to tuckered out to investigate, but will figure it out this weekend.Just have door handles left to put on.

Oh,I got my rear window put in today and got my front one resealed...for free!Is nice to have good connections(race buddies).Headliner will be going in this weekend also.:yawinkle:

:eek:ccasion:Well after 3 weeks of nuckle bustin,my car is back together for racing.Just in time,as I,m on 1 weeks holidays..woohoo.Today I got a new headliner installed(black),my old one was white.Kinda gonna change interior to black also, carpet and bucket seats I have a waiting.I had to modify my side exhaust exit pipes yet again(hitting CalTracs)to just turndowns.Taking the car for frontend alignment, then will go for T&T this week..Couple pics..

Looking good Scott. You'll have to update us with what she's running now.
Hey Tracy, glad to hear from you.I didn,t forget about the seam sealer.LOL.I got mine from CarQuest, its called Color Flow seam sealer(black)Part #32020(CFC).I,m hoping for better launches and 60fts with the car, after adding the RMS stuff up front and the Caltracs on back. We,ll see..

You get things adjusted right and it should launch real good.

Thanks for the name and part #. I don't have a Carquest near me anymore but I'll see what I can find online.

Sorry to hear about your paint and body nightmare. It happens all too often. I am painting a 68 dart around the end of this month for a friend of mine. Don't feel too bad, his was in the body shop for 5 years, before it was in sealer and the body work is not that great. Have fun racing.

Any real bodyman could knocked my car off in 3 months,painted...done.You were paid for the job,did you complete the job..No.We,ll leave it at that.Have a nice day.

I have to agree with ya Scott, 3 months is approx 500 man hours, which equates to a 25-40k job. Sorry bout your luck, but glad you got the mojo to get it done!

I have to agree. This truck did not have a straight panel on it. It took me about 4 months to totally complete this and I did all of the work, including engine and drive train work and complete interior. All rusty metal was cut out and replaced. There is not more than a skim coat of mud on the entire truck. You won't find a wave in the body work anywhere. Oh yeah I work 60 hours a week at my regular job too. Ship it to Utah next time Scott. :thumblef: Sorry about hijacking the thread, but I just thought your painter needs to step up and make it right. IMO

Wish you were closer Badart,I put the car back together in 3 weeks after working my job 10hr days/nights.I,ve taken my lose, but he seems to keep posting in my thread. It,s said and done.I just hope nobodyelse gets burned.Maybe I should post some pics of what I paid for.LOL

Well I got out racing for the weekend, the car sure was different with the saggy leafs from my 68 Barracuda with the Caltracs.I spent a good amount of time trying to set the car up,but the leafs just aren,t working for me.So..I have the mono-leafs on the way.I was spinning off launch with every adjustment I made.At one point the car hopped 6 inches off the ground(all 4 tires).LOL.Anyway,I got the car down to 11.34@115mph 60fts 1.61,sure is a long shot from my 10.81@124mph 60fts 1.50 lastyear.I,m hoping the car will hook with the mono,s and I can put my 29x12 slicks back on.I was running MT drag radials this weekend.Had a great time..pics.

Scott: The mono's are the only way to go, they will make your dart hook. I had them on my 330 loved them, take notes when you make your adjustments.
Sorry to here about your paint, I kind of like the way she looks kind of nostalgia looking.

Kenny
