Finding engine numbers info

Like I said in post #9 find the numbers on the front of the block and that will tell you when the block was put together. I have a 70 block cast on 7-1-70
but had a problem and wasn't built till May 6 71 almost a year later and was almost a 1972. The casting date really doesn't mean much but the date it was cast.

Ok, found the pad above the oil pan. Weird stuff here. If you look at the second digit it almost looks as if a 3 was stamped over a 5. The last two digits are double stamps. So hard to tell what it is. What you guys think? (tap on photo to expand)

That is a "B" for the Hamtramck plant. The engine I am looking for is 306021 so it is not far off from that! Typical stamping, 9B347508, so it came out of a 69 Dart or Barracuda.
