Hello all, Like the title states, I found a local 360 for sale. Here's what the seller sent me. What do you all think this is worth?

"Shes actually still unassembled. I have the 360 block bored .30 over. Hyper pistons, forged rods, cast crank, all balanced and cleaned up by the machine shop. I have a Miloden high flow fuel pump, deeper pan, high flow water pump, 750 Demon carb, full ARP bolt kit, full gasket set, J heads that need to be cleaned up. All parts except rockers, push rods, and intake manifold."

Thanks
Steve

Why not just put the price they want up and we'll tell you if it's fair.

Well that's because he hasn't gotten back to me with a price. I'd like an educated opinion from the members here before I offer him anything. I'm not an engine guy so I came to the experts. shesh tough crowd here. :violent1:

If he has no receipts for machine work, move on. Even if it's obviously been done. I would want to contact the machine shop and ask how they did what. Money's tight these days. You need to protect yourself.

Well, that would explain why you didn't say. It's just frustrating when we have to play the guessing game that's all.

A lot of these threads show up. It is just easier to see a price and go from there.

is it greasy? new rebuild? 500 or 20,000 miles? is this off CL ? someone you know? still in the car? Steve, without details its hard to just guess. without hearing it actually run, theres no telling what condition its in. this is why Badsport is asking for a number. and i wont even throw a number out there either without more details , it not a tough crowd , just need more info

As stated in my first post, the block is completely disassembled with the aforementioned parts waiting to get installed into a 360 block thats been "all balanced and cleaned up by the machine shop". I guess I'll contact the seller and get more info.

There has to be a good reason why he's selling it.

With documentation and price, it's a very old story, known as a "pig in a poke"

These very old sayings didn't just materialize out of thin air. They MEAN something

A "poke" was a "bag." This was a scam. You'd sell someone a "young pig" (desired) and in the enclosed "poke" which you could not look into, might be ANYTHING from a rat to a cat or a stray dog.

As Bo Diddley say's......In Philadelphia it's worth 50 bucks :D.

Half of whatever the new parts and machine work cost, plus $100 for the block. That formula would make for a good deal. I wouldn't pay 100% of what the new parts cost because at that rate, you'd be better off just buying a block and doing all the work yourself.
