Ok, so my front end has always done this upon launch.

But.. is it normal? My front end has a good bit of travel, which I sorta set up that way so it would help hook in less than ideal situations.
It does settle down and look normal down track.

This is what it looks like just sitting... Would adjusting the bars and redoing the alignment help the scary looking angle? Or since it doesn't really feel weird, just let it ride? (don't mind the speedo cable.. I forgot to pull it out.)

If you can find a copy of the Mopar Performance suspension manual (ninth edition is the last) it shows you step by step how to fix that and it will speed the car up.

You need to get a handle on that, not only is it slowing you down, it's dragging the tires causing premature wear and it's hazardous to the handling of the car.

Wow That looks a bit scary! How does it feel when You launch? Stick/Auto?

IMO you can't feel comfortable!

honestly... it launches fine goes straight fine. But I can feel, "resistance" in handling. I believe it's gotten worse, I don't remember it being that crazy.

Auto car - 4500+ converter that launch I think was leaving at maybe 1psi of boost. No transbrake.

I'm also guessing when I swapped over to qa1 upper and lower control arms and redid the front, when I had the alignment done, they just made it point straight and called it good.

So what was the first picture taken at the launch sequence? And the first posted. Can I assume it was the first after Launch?

Or first after landing?

First is during launch as suspension is working and lifting the front (wish someone took video).. second is down track. Third is just static, but doesn't really show you anything.

Really need a video of the run! Best with at least 2 cams one from behind, and or underneath and one watching trackside! You will get the best help that way!

I’m usually alone when I go t&t post babies. I’ve an old Hero3 gopro that I can stick in weird places to record stuff I’m curious about. Stick it under the front or/& on a tripod. Use a big memory card if your wait in staging is really long….. good luck

Edit: there is a remote I guess you can turn it on when ready from the car. Not sure how far that things good for though?..

The upper control arm is pulling the top of the tire in because of the tighter arc than the lower control arm. You can limit this effect by installing a 1 inch taller upper ball joint. So if the control arm starts basically parallel with the ground and the suspension drops as it goes down the ball joint moves in as well. If it starts its movement above parallel by 1/2 it’s total travel. The first half will push the ball joint out, then start pulling it in. You have will have cut the amount in half at full droop. My stock control arm droops to the point of almost contact with the frame. No bump stop. I’m running just the moog offset bushings to get more caster. What front end parts are in there? Just read the QA-1 adjustable control arms. You need an alignment by someone who sets a car up to drag race. You have the parts on the car to solve it.

It has to be something with your alignment. I’m running QA1 uppers and mine look like this on launch with 5 1/2” of travel.

Pretty sure basic alignment won't fix it. I checked everything and there is not enough adjustment at all without changing parts.

I've ordered some spc adjustable uca's to replace the qa1s (which are just tubular not adjustable).
Hopefully this shop can set it up properly.

All factory parts except bushings 5 3/4" travel. Just need to take it to someone experienced.

You will love those SPC UCA's! Hopefully you got them from Peter Bergman. I put them on my avatar, dialed in 3+ degrees of caster, and have a car that now leaves straight and goes straight. Only you can decide what lift amount you want to use to set the toe at. The MP book goes through that as you cannot be perfect under all values of front end lift. As the front suspension drops, those tie rod ends don't get shorter so they tend to add toe-in. I think I used 1" front end lift to set mine up as I figured the majority if the 1/4 mile would be spent in that range. But I mapped it at various lifts so I'd know what it does.

The 3rd picture shows the large amount (5-6") of front (and rear) travel my suspension has. And IIRC, your car is faster than my n/a 408 (low 11 secs).

Great, I was thinking about purchasing those the bac. Your suspension looks like the advertisement I needed to make up my mind

Suspension pics (around the uca, weight on the wheel/ride height) would be good. It would be interesting to see how they went about getting the camber right with the suspension lowered so it sit right with the oversize rims.
