So all of the sudden my temp and fuel gauge quit working any ideas. They are right next to each other. See photo

IVR or dash current limiter works on both plus the oil gauge. That down also?
No oil gauge on darts standard dash.
The IVR is the most likely cause.
It is replaceable without removing the dash but it's hard till you have done it a few times.

Looking at the photo in post #1 my bet is they are OK.
When my IVR failed closed (12V continuous) my temp gauge took a hit. the needle ended up a 1/2" too far left. still worked but never got over the low normal line. the fuel gauge was not effected. probably low on fuel and a lot of resistance in the sender

Question, what is the cardboard piece under the VR? And is it necessary? Mine has a condenser, but no cardboard.

It protects the IVR from grounding to the cir board.
I made one from a milk carton but a playing card would work well too.

Okay, thanks. Chasing down a fuel gauge not working. Have a new IVR to install.
