I watch it for the cars. Not everything Mark always says is 100% correct but it is better than all of the other Chevy shows.
Not every restoration is done for resale value,, and ours is costing less than my ram pickup cost. I have no idea what Mark charges other folks,, but he was nowhere near that 80-100,000 number for us. No even close. Maybe using it for the show helped.

In general I don't watch the car build shows (actually watch less TV these days than in the past - I'd rather be doing something...). I do enjoy the stuff Freiburger does, but don't go out of my way looking for it. I find GYC a bit boring (I know how to build a Mopar). My two favorite non-fiction TV shows are Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and Salvage Dawgs.

I see with last night's episode they are starting to slip back into their old habits. I was all hyped up to see them shoot the Demon, but all they did was blow a prime coat on and move on to other stuff. I can get into a build, but I hate it when they give teasers and then leave you hanging.

In my opinion, love or hate Mark Worman and his antics, this is a great and informative show for us Mopar fanatics.
If you look beyond the scripting, there is a lot of information on there.
And, it's about Mopars!

Unfortunately you're right.
(His) Attitude bothers some of us. I just watch and shake my head at the stupid drama and chit. I usually learn something, (that I already knew but forgot! Ha) Like said it is a Mopar show and he is in Calif, (its all Hollywood sorta anyway!).

If they don't make it somewhat entertaining, they'll lose 1/2 of their viewership. A lot of people watch TV just for dumb stuff.

I agree, and I love the show! In fact, I have the DVR set to record it every week, and I haven't missed an episode, thanks to On Demand (except for the seasons they for some reason don't have available!)
I've probably learned more about these cars we love in the last year than in the previous 40 years working on them.
I like Nicks Garage on YouTube. No BS, Nick knows his ****, and it’s a very informative show. Somewhat boring in the drama area, but that’s just fine with me!

I watch it occasionally , used to race a B body , and dont learn much I can use now, and dam sure dont think any of it is funny.-a b body is a b body.
I do enjoy the questions part of it tho, and I have seen 2 mistakes they made , or reported on the 426 hemi builds too.
Who'd have thought there would be 14 shows about restoring or building vintage cars running concurrently?

My theory is that most of these car shows are produced by non car people so they bump the "entertainment" value.

I agree, but if you are going to advertise a show about restoring cars then it should be about restoring cars. With that being said, I too do not really appreciate mark's attitude and subsequent "comedy" but i was just watching episode 5 in season 13 and mark says and I quote (when commenting on the speed of his friends working), "And watching them work, it should be entertaining, right? I mean it's a TV show...A TV show!" "you see me out there, i'm doing all kinds of stuff. Just like the variety show. I'm spinning plates, i got a dog dancing in a tutu. I'm trying to entertain you, These guys, it's just morbidly boring. It's like watching paint dry. it just takes forever. Do something, kick him in the ***, make fun of him, insult his bald head. do something."
After reading that, my best guess is that mark was being told by the producers to try and spice things up then he watched one of the early episodes and decided that he could make it less "boring" thus annoying worm-man

Did I miss something? All I saw was a 5 minute cameo of Will shooting primer on a masked-off Demon and the rest of it was spent with Mark at his friend's junkyard.
