"Graveyard Carz"...any fans here?

I haven't watched it in years because well I haven't had cable in years LOL...
But I will say what I always say when the subject comes up.. if you were to put me in a dream shop that basically consisting of everything needed to take a car from a rust bucket to a complete show car and it's all high-end Mopar and then stick a TV camera in my face I probably wouldn't be far off Mark worman.. I'd be a silly kid in a candy shop...

My son tipped me off to a series on MotorTrend channel called "Graveyard Carz", which deals with historically correct restorations of sixties and seventies Mopar cars, mostly rare and collectible performance cars. If one can overlook the mostly-retarded antics of Mark, who alone in the dark and twisted recesses of his warped mind, believes he is both humorous and witty as well as being a gifted entertainer, (not) and focus upon the cars, the incredible near-perfect restorations and the extreme talent of his very adept crew, the show can be an invaluable learning lesson for the Mopar fan. Mark's knowledge alone is legendary, and in the moments when he is serious and imparting knowledge, it would be hard to imagine a better teacher/instructor in the craft of rebuilding wrecks and derelicts, many of which are in Titanic-like disrepair. Having just discovered this show a couple weeks ago, I've been binge watching episodes on On Demand in an effort to get caught up to present day, though I can only imagine how Covid has affected such a business. Any other fans (or haters, even)?

You can tell by some of the responses that this has been on TV for a good eight years now... Needless to say we've been over this subject a couple times lol...

I have talked to many other shops in the area and they all say he is actually a real a++hole. Does anyone know for sure if that's the case or are the other shops just slamming him because of his popularity? I have been to the shop never went in as they were closed @ 3pm when I stopped by. Thought that was weird.

I’ve heard a mix of both. My buddy and I stopped by his shop before he had a tv show check out a 67 GTX parked out front. He had a shop on Main St here in Springfield called Wellbys. He treated us like piles of garbage, we were just happy to see a GTX that’s was really a nice car.

I bought my duster there in Springfield I think it was many years ago probably about six or seven at least.. I swear I pulled into a paint shop that was kind of between two one-way streets? And I went in there and there was a little short guy behind the desk and I asked him about a paint job for the duster and he was talkin 10K... I want to say that was the place but I can't remember..

His old spot was on the right side of a one way. He’s been at his graveyard shop id say about 7ish years. It’s kind of hidden in a funky spot. The metal works resto shop my buddy works at paint jobs are about 20k, It’s ridiculous

Everyone has their own way of restoring cars. I just think it's awesome to a Mopar show on TV. I know the people that don't like Graveyard Cars rather watch The Young and the Restless or the View.

Mark is an Asshole. Knowledgeable, but an Asshole. He could do this show and show some dignity, but insists in mocking everybody that works for him. He is not that good of a showman to "put-on" that act - it must be real. Cousin Dougie seems genuine, and knows his stuff, and the painter and body guys are pretty good. Daughter Alyssa seems like a very nice person, but will never be the one to take-over the shop. Nice to see Mopars being restored.
Too bad Mark makes it so painful.....

I've gathered from the episodes I've watched that the show has been on quite some time. I believe they are in season 12 now. I can sorta read between the lines and see that Mark is leaning heavily toward having the 'show' provide income for him, his employees, and his business. Bad move. He's gone from specialist and Mopar 'guru' to a rather bad actor that also can't dance or sing, and you can see the biz is beginning to suffer for it. It may well be that the reality TV execs are calling the shots for Mark and Will and the others. They should tell them to go pound sand...someone (another producer) will pick it up. I must say it's a hell of a lot better seeing classic Mopar muscle being restored to factory than watching Chip Foose steal somebody's car and restore it the way HE thinks it should look. And he's almost nearly ALWAYS wrong, IMHO. Or watching Freiburger and Dulcich destroy the few remaining muscle cars out there. I was simply blown away at learning the factory installed K-frame and motor/suspension from the BOTTOM! And also how easy it looks to flip the uni on a Whirly Jig instead of going through months of Rust Hell like I did on my Duster...

Can not Stand that guy! gives mopar guys a bad name

when you start worrying about markings on parts that can't even be seen when assembled, ya lost me.....

I don't know whether Mark is an s-hole or not, I watch the show to see Mopars.

I did meet Dan at Fantomworks before his show started. I moved to Virginia Beach and took a job that was close to his shop. I asked the Mopar club president if he knew anyone who might be selling an early Barracuda and he pointed me to Dan.

I stopped by one day to ask Dan. He made a couple phone calls to see if he could find one for me, then showed me all around his shop. Real nice guy! Very proud of his shop but not cocky at all. Hopefully the show hasn't changed him.

Well I really like the show. I have learned a lot. Mark does act a bit goofy sometimes, but I can get past that. I don't mind a bit of goofy humor.

Mopar Hollywood.
For my dime, just give me a show that actually shows how to build or fix something. Don't need drama, deadlines, f***** up humor, silly girls.
OK so sometimes I can stand a silly girl.
Can't disagree. I like shows like that too. The problem is that they don't exist. I think there are a few shows that still show a decent amount of actual 'building and fixing'; Graveyard Cars, Iron Resurection, Wheeler Dealers and Bitching Rides. Although they are all showing less work now than in the beginning. Are you familiar with the show Gearz with Stacy David? It used to be pretty good. He did a lot of work, and you could learn a thing or two. Now the show is LITTERALLY a 30 minute commercial. Seriously, all he does for 30 minutes is plug different products. Do you remember the show Counts Customs? In the beginning they showed a lot of work, but after a few years I stopped watching it because in 30 minutes there was only 5 minutes of actual car work. Same with Fast and Loud. Can't those clowns understand why we watch those shows?

Yeah, I agree they probably have tons of footage of work being done on the cars that could easily be edited, but instead they insist on adding drama and poor attempts at so called comedy. I'd much rather see the mistakes they made on there way to perfection. Steve

I can usually tell right off the bat that if someone complains about MW, they will not like me either.
That is fine because YOU people are often boring as an insurance salesman to me. I have no room in my life for people that have no personality and no sense of humor.
Having stated that, I do watch the show. I don't care for the majority of the non car related commentary between the workers. I do like Mark's comments, movie references and knowledge. The inclusion of the film crew was absolutely pointless. Who gives a corny turd about these guys? I know as a car guy, we are in the minority but I'd like to see more technical stuff and less bitching between the workers.

Watched a couple episodes and couldn't get past Worman. Its almost like work sifting the legit useful info out of all the BS.

We watch these shows for2 minutes of worthwhile work, the rest is commercials, stupid ****, or plugging some one's product. I record them, I wake up at 4 AM and nothing to do till I start the day, being old and retired just working on my projects.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a horseman, not a cowboy, a horseman. Any horse out there kept hi raining abilities too himself, if anyone muttered any information, it was tiny. You learned by watching these guys and then trial and error, the school of really hard knocks! Fast forward a few decades, now there are great training videos, TV shows that spend most of that 30 minutes showing and telling how and why. Ponit is, I wonder when someone will be smart enough to start a car show that actually instructs a person like so much UTube?????

Non BS recipes can and do work for hands on resto shows.

Examples-

This Old House (how many decades?)
Rehab Addict (does not hurt to have a hottie as the protagonist)

Wheeler Dealers
EDIT- adding Full Custom Garage as pointed out below
Garage Squad (not full credit but less BS than most)

Definitely eye candy...but she knows what she's doing and is NOT about BS or drama. That makes her even more attractive in my book.

I like Full Custom Garage ( Is that the name of it?), usually just the one guy, Ian doing his hotrod builds. No drama, no BS and he shows a lot of what he is doing.

I agree ,but a few of those builds had to be so heavy they couldn`t get out of their own way.
