Totally agree. I got a beer says you also like Damascus steel on your blades! Hah! I think that is what draws me to the long distance shoots with period pieces. Banging targets with old cowboy guns just Makes me purr! I compete with an old 38-55 and also a falling block 45-70. Both of which are a hoot to shoot.

I had a Mannlicher stock Ruger #1 long ago.
270 Winchester, gorgeous wood, didn't weigh but about 6 pounds.
I carried it during deer season it was so easy to carry
Sold it when my brat's activities became more important than my hunting fun.
Sold it for more than twice what I had paid for it just 5 years prior.

I've never owned a Ruger #1 but I am a big fan of single shot rifles. I just love the lines of a Mannlicher stocked rifle. You should get yourself another one.
I took delivery of my newest firearm to add to my collection of misfits. It is a Ross .280 M10 Sporting rifle probably made around 1915. I thought that I would share some pics as most people have never even heard of the rifle let alone seen one. The rifle is very good shape. Some stock dings that I probably will steam out to make her look even better. The bore is beautiful. Not always the case when there was potential use of corrosive primers. The action is a straight pull with 6 locking lugs like a Howitzer. Very fast and solid. This particular model has open sights that are regulated from 0-500 meters. It also came equipped with a cool built-in pop-up aperture on the rear bridge of the receiver.

Lost a good one last night. Bandit was one of the two shepherd mixes that I got out of Iraq in 2010. He was 13 years old and his brother, Charlie, is the same age and kind of lost without his brother today.

We raised money with the help of my Mother’s dog rescue group and was able to bring them home with the help of ASPCA International’s “Operation Baghdad Pups”.

My 24 gun safe is in! I used the MN Frontline Worker money to buy a safe that was half price during a flash sale. Big enough for my needs (with room to grow my collection) and right in my price range. I'll pick it up this weekend.

No doubt. I started with a 16 gun Browning safe and now have five safes of at least 10 gun capacity each. Need a bigger house.

Your post was the first clue she might be. I can't recall if she was a shelter find or a street find, I think the former.
yes, she's crazy. LOL. Very barky over well, everything but particularly boundries and squirrels.
Probably in the catagory of needing very consistant and clear directions and reward, and that household is more in the indulgant category. That's the only dog of theirs I haven't had to watch walk or stay over here. I think she'd be OK, but too much with the other two as they don't always get along well.
I don't have any photos, but next time I'm over there will try to remember to take some.

Here is the two I had, the one on the left (chain collar) I lost the first part of July, the other knucklehead is still here, lol. I sure do miss the one, Zeus, what a fantastic dog he was. I adopted both of these guys too. I must be a home for wayward Malinois............
