Son and his wife had a great goose hunt yesterday, pix of daughter! They are duck/goose hunting machines. That girl can swing a shotgun!

Totally depends on the cook and the species. A lot of folks make jerky out of Geese. My Dad however can prepare it in a way that you want seconds. I on the other hand can prepare it where it is edible and fine for a plate but ya typically don’t want seconds!

Funny story about cooking Duck, as most on here know the men in our family are the primary cooks. No different at our house I do the cooking day in day out. I really like to cook and have attended many culinary classes for this and that. One such class was on cooking Duck, it was at a swanky restaurant on the Oregon Coast. The class was great, but as the Chef was preparing the Duck, the breast was huge and he was slitting it to stuff and putting some perforations in it for flavor enhancing. I raised my hand and asked where he got the duck as I had never in my life seen a breast so plump on a Duck. He remarked they all looked that way? I replied I simply had never seen one like that, his helper whisper in his ear. The response was classic, the Chef was aghast. He looked right at me and accusingly asked “you shoot them”. Yep he never looked at me or spoke to me again.

Stuffed with herbs and fruit, baked breast down... Carves like roast beef. .. less greasy than duck
 
Well Merry Christmas all you gun bunnies out there! Don’t forget to give your doggos a Xmas treat! Hope you guys all have a great bit of time away from work and enjoy some fellowship with your families. We sure do appreciate you guys. I will leave you with this bit of Shepard pup nonsense this morning. You can just see the condescending sneer on the Mal as she watches the pup, thinking to herself what a moron I have for a Sister! As the pup tries to free herself. Milk teeth are all but gone, still teething a bit but mostly over it.

That right there is a good wife! I tried everything to weasel my way into a new blaster this year for Xmas. Turns out I wanted blinds for the living room windows for Xmas. I had no idea? But it appears that was what I wanted this year. I reckon it is fair, we have had the house done now for a couple of years and we keep saying we will but we don’t! They are just so pricey, and my opinion just not needed. Boy was I wrong, yet again. It’s not like we got neighbors. On plus side she did make me a huge batch of oatmeal cookies! We have ate and drank like pirates this Xmas. Just a great holiday. I have put on a solid five pounds of pure crap weight! I bet we have went thru twenty sticks of butter this last week or so! Hah!

Not sure why that pick is upside down, but the little guy is actually the WASR (with the metal magazine)
The 2 gauge has at least an extra inch on the stock, so im curious to see how the lenght of pull is

I had dropped a few hints and honestly, I've been wanting a 20ga

A few years ago me and a buddy went shooting and he brought his 20ga
Come to think of it, I may not even have had any guns yet
So I bought a few hundred rounds of 20ga shells and I still have over 100 sitting in the lockers

So it just made sense to get one

I have a bunch of rounds that don’t fit anything I got? Solution, get something shiny and new that they fit!

It was iether that, or wrapping enough aluminum foil around em to shoot em from a 12 ga...you know, like we used to do with fuses


I think we chose the better option
