Is yours SFI rated?
’m thinking maybe I try putting it in the oven to open it up and hope for the best.
Is there any elastomer in it?

Does the end of the balancer snout bottom out on the front bearing surface on the crank. I don't like the looks of what you pictured there.Your all wrong. He's fully seated. Agree?

It is normal for some balancers to have a step like that inside. It helps you start the snout of the balancer into the front seal straight.
That balancer did get the correct final machining process, according to his measurements.
It is common for aftermarket balancers to be on the tight side, and common to require a slight honing inside for proper fit. There is an acceptable tolerance all parts are machined to.
Make sure the woodruf key fits in the slot, then just hone it a small amount. A tight fit is preferred, but this one is too tight.
Most Professional Products balancers will touch, or nearly touch, the weight on the back side to the front seal when fully installed.
I got the company to send me the tech drawing which doesn’t show the inner diameter, but does show the step down in ID in the middle. So I guess it’s supposed to be there.

Also I don’t have a installation tool, but Larry Shepherds book just says to use the crank bolt to install the damper
that looks about right. congrats.
Your all wrong. He's fully seated. Agree? <<FAIL!>>> my bad. I measured the distance from nose to back of balancer and they are all equal. It just sticks out height wise.
