Health Question

My God, don't you have a hand truck? I used to do HVAC work, and if your contract is that flimsy, you need to SERIOUSLY consider finding different work.

This blood in the urine thing is VERY troubling. You MUST NOT and can NOT afford to ignore this, especially with your stated past medical history

Not only could this put you out of work, it could kill you.

the FIRST thing to do is tell your wife, and the second thing to do is call your doctor

I've got both a hand truck and a strap appliance dolly, but this Water heater was a short stubby one and the hand truck was no match for a 46 gallon full tank. Also I install a lot of double wall ovens which even with the doors removed are still very heavy and sometime pose a challenge to get into the wall with wiring issues etc....

If you don't devise yourself a way around your working conditions, you are gonna kill yourself.

Went to Dr. today. He looked at me and took blood and prescribed antibiotics again.
possibly a kidney or bladder infection but he wants to send me to Duke for a colonoscopy and lab work. Took X Rays but didn't notice anything from the X-ray. I will continue to work and hope for the best. Will update as soon as I know more. Pain is a lot less today than yesterday which is welcome news.

I'm glad you went to the doctor today for the tests needed. I'm also very glad you're doing a bit better today. Prayers sent to you my brother. MMG

Because you are feeling a little better today and you are on medication, my hope is that it is some sort of infection. Hopefully it is and the medication will get you back to good health. All the best to you and please keep us informed. Mike

Dude I hope everything works out, I wish my dad went to the doc when he had blood in his urine, well he waited and 2 years later he went to the doc and had stage 4 cancer. The doc told us that if he would have went when the blood first appeared and simple scraping and pills and he would of been ok.

Please go see your doc.

I WISH MY DAD WOULD HAVE.

Rick

I lift appliances for a living and usually strain myself at least once or twice a week when I am working by myself. I am not earning enough to hire anyone to help me so I just run myself. This pain and blood started on Wednesday after I did a water heater on Tuesday which was full of water and would not drain out. Water heater was heavy as a son of a beatch to remove from home.
Man, been there. Ya gotta work smarter when your by yourself. Get a large shop vac, build an adapter and suck the water out of a element hole, if electric. Gas? I dunno? find a hole somewhere or drill one. Hope it works out for you, get well.

Taking Antibiotics and received a call from Duke today Going in next Monday the 22nd for testing. Not feeling any worse today so that's a good sign I'm sure.

I do appliance repair for a living, so I know about lifting/moving heavy stuff. You need to find a way to save your body! I have a cracked vertebra, collapsing disks, nerve damage and other problems with my back. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! If the doc says to lay off for a while, you need to do it. I know it's easier said than done, but if you are out of the picture permanently you will assuredly loose the house, etc. Talk to your friends, church, us, etc. about your needs instead of messing yourself up permanently.

Prayers sent for you and the Dr's dustermaniac, I just went through this whole thread, First and foremost I am glad you got to the dr...:happy10: and know awaiting the 22nd to come.
Did your dr. say anything about a diet till the 22nd and jumping off a step or over straining and or lifting ??? till then !!!!??
Till then work smart and take the slow smart steps getting things dun.
In the future remove the pop off valve and spend about $12 on a clear plastic 1/2'' hose from Lows and take the time to siphon as much of the water out as possible. " I do under stand staying on the job and getting it dun means allot" :clock::clock:
Take a cut in pay and keep your jobs moving forward and hire a young gun is well worth your health and keeping you customers happy. I don't mean to sound to forward this morning but you are taking one thing for granted here that I can see, that is your long term health, I can't say that I take good care of myself but it sounds like this is very important at this time in your life. I can't recall how old or young you are at this time, so please look at the big picture
Your Arkansas friend Mike.

Keepin you on the prayer list here. ...and I kinda gotta agree with 440Ken. If yer dead meat, won't none of it matter much. lol Take care of yourself man.

Well I pushed myself today and the pain returned. Really Hurting right now. I had three Ovens today. I am going to take it as easy as possible the rest of the week and I am trying to find a helper now. This really is a concern as I get these constant sharp pains every time I do too much.

The old saying goes "work smarter . . . not harder" you need to find a way to stop abusing your equipment . . . namely YOUR BODY!! Take care of yourself, thoughts and prayers sent till you are better. Rog

I'm sure you pay into workmens compensation insurance.
Your contract is not going to be completed when you die so get your *** to the doctor now.

OOPS, I missed the post where you had seen the doctor.
Take it easy and get well soon.

Blood in urine would be from either Kidneys or Bladder....either way, it ain't good.
It may not be a hernia.....Cancer could be a possible cause.....get yourself checked out!!

Doctor called today with results of urine and blood tests. I have to go for a CT Scan next week. Could be as simple as kidney stones or worst case scenario I was told it could be kidney or bladder cancer. Got a support belt for my waist today. Hopefully it will ease the pain of lifting. The doctor has not told me I cannot work so I continue to work. I am being very cautious about how much I lift and am still looking to get a helper. Thanks for all the prayers and I will keep everyone updated as this plays out. Damn, getting old sucks!!!!
