Hello, My name is John. I have been reading thru the post here and really like the forum. So I desided to introduce myself.

I have a 74 Scamp that a bought about 1 1/2 months ago for a project car.
It has a running 318 that is coming out to make room for a 413 Big block.

The 7 1/4 rear end lost the RR axle bearing on the drive home from buying the car buts thats all good, I have a A-body 8 3/4 housing and 742 Third memeber now!!

My goal is to build a 12 Second bracket / street car for less than $3000.
So far so good. As of now I have spent $1275 and have the car, the 413, the 727, 2800 stall, 1 3/4 headers to modify, 8 3/4 housing, third member, ect.

All I really need to finish this all up is axles, driveshaft, engine mounts, Radiator, entire fuel system, throttle and trans. cables, front pully setup, manual sterring box, subframe connectors, minispool and a pair of slicks.

Here are some pics.

Welcome, by the way, turn your headers around unless it's a rear engine car.
:bootysha:

Welcome John, your gold 74 scamp looks good,
keep us updated please.And enjoy,

Welcome. Headers backward for a reason or just clowning around ? :joker:

Yeah just clowing around with the headers.

Not much progress made lately. $$ has been tight, shop has been slow, UGGG!!

I did pick up a 67 Charger 8 3/4 housing and axles with good taper bearings. (59.5 drum to drum, 44.0 betwwen perches)

I tossed a mini-spool in the 742 carrier with 3.23 gears. Got it all bolted in the car, just had to flex the springs a lil' to get the spring perches to drop onto the leaf spring pins. (I expected this and was very simple)

Next up is to by some brake shoes, wheel cyliner rebuild kits and shorten the drive shaft.

I am going to drive the car on the 318 for a while to sort out any suspension, electrical, ect. issues before dropping in the big block. I can't help myself, the priject is gouing way to slow for my tastes and I want to drive my Scamp!! :toothy10: I started the engine the other day and she sounds good, (better than my V6 Nissan), with the dual flowmaster knock offs!
