I bought this motor from a guy who didn’t know much of anything about the build and I took his word that it was rebuilt. It is an early 73 cast 360. I pulled the top end and truck oil pan off today to find that indeed it was freshly rebuilt and I’m trying to identify the pistons that are in the motor. The motor is .060 over and the crank and rods appear stock. Any help is appreciated. Also if anyone knows what rockers these are I would appreciate that too. No part numbers on either the pistons or rockers. I’m leaning towards a cast .060 over flat top and proform rockers.

I have blue anodized no-name rockers like that on my engine, that I bought from the Chrysler dealer out of the old Mopar Performance catalog, back in 1999.

My pistons look a lot like that, lol, and they are KB107 Hypereutectics. They were a lil lighter than the originals, and so I had to have the guts rebalanced.

No numbers on top of the pistons?
Those can help. If not numbers cast in the bottoms are needed.

That would make sense. The guy I bought the motor from said he thought they were Mopar Performance. They feel quality to me.

Pistons look like KB107 or equivalent. Don't know about the rockers. Might be ProForm.

The only numbers cast in the bottom was 060 and possibly a large capital “D”
Those pistons look like the valve reliefs were fly cut into them. Who knows what they are. Maybe cast into the skirts.

I don't know. That wouldn't explain their zero or near zero deck height. That describes someone's off the shelf aftermarket piston. A stock piston never came up that high in the bore.

They do look like the KB107 after looking at some photos of them.

Rusty I built. 360 for drag racing years ago. Flush deck height but had to cut in valve reliefs for the “big cam” I had ground for it. Built more on the exhaust side - anyhow those pistons were part of a PAW kit. Never knew what pistons they were. Even the machine shop was stumped but they worked and ran many passes at 12.2 even a few in the high 11’s.

I do know that the 71 360 was the only one that had a different compression height.....until the Magnum. They were much closer to zero deck....and you used to could get those, but no longer.

I've searched for magnum pistons but I never found anything just for the 5.9 magnums
