I'm looking to hop up my 318 up a little the it already has a summit racing weiand action plus intake and 500 cfm carter recently i installed an 8 3/4 with 3.55 and a sure grip the plans for over the winter are to instal install a hughes whiplash cam and to gasket match and install 1.88 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves into 302 casting heads as to keep compression and install either a set of dougs headers or repo 340 hipo manifolds
budget is tight but I'm open to opinions

Beautiful car :thumbrig:. I think you're on the right track. I'd do the headers if your budget allows it.

For a 10 - 15% h/p gain.. Long tube headers are one of the most cost effective hi-po mods you will make..

Converter wise what would I be looking at the cam I mentioned has a sweet spot form idle to 4800. And I was also thinking aluminum head are about the same price as getting the larger valves put in the 302 heads would putting performer heads be worth it
