Actually, the upper shock bracket welded in by the previous builder seems pretty solid and
is not putting any pressure directly on the inner fender panel at all. There are no apparent
rub marks on the car from the coil springs contacting it. Probably will be able to re-use this
feature. The front end was so stiff it could be that the shocks themselves were deflecting.

As they are not my pics, I checked with Denny, all is good.
Here you go:

installing the QA1's with the 5 3/8" travel, we dropped from the 500 lb /10" spring to a 400 lb / 12".

the longer travel and softer spring sure made for a "smoother ride" ....really took the bit of harshness out of it.

How excited am I to get HDK upgrade? Off the charts excited. I can't tell you how cool it was that Denny called me and asked if Big Jim could take my car for the up grade. I'm pumped.

Thinking about the rub marks (in my sleep,...... I can't control it....only try to contain it!) on the shocks....I think (dream) due to the lower control arm pivot points, as the suspension compressed, the lower ball joint is pulled forward enough to put the spring and shock in a bind.

I do some of my best work in my sleep :)

Yup. She hates the covered wagon. :angry7:

Years ago while studying calculus I thought I had solved a very complex equation. Then I woke up. :D

Not sure which part I like best...... the breathing underwater or the flying like Superman.

Pictures from an HDK customer. Nice & low and tucked in!

this is the DRIVE height....no air bags

LA version....NO EXTRA CHARGE by the way, just a little extra tunnel and possible upper fender well mods (depending on tire)

to use this package the motor and trans is raised appox 2.5"....the up side is lots of room for the steering shaft and plenty of ground clearance.

this particular set up has a ride height eye-hole to eye-hole shock mount measurement of 12"... a 10" coil spring and a shock with 10-1/8 compressed and 14" extended will work perfectly (QA1 #DS 402)

WOW! Now that's how to do it!

This is a gentleman who chose wisely when planning and
ordering his custom wheel offsets.

Actually....I'm joinin' HIS club.....you should see the ROCKIN' triangulated 4-bar set up he has under the rear.

I plan to "borrow" the design....add a few HemiDenny mods to make it a simple install and make them available to the A-body boys (and girls)

So, I assume that since the 6.1 Hemi has been raised 2.5" (by the
owner's choice) that he will be running a cowl hood of some sort but
retains streetable ground clearance and the super low overall stance.

I say agreeable tradeoff for such a killer looking piece.

Awesome.
Denny, just out of curiousity, whats a ballpark lower limit for the standard setup like mine, measuring like we did from the frame rail behind the front tire?

There is gonna be an HDK 4-link kit? I can't wait to see that.

Damn.... I had the first non-Hemi prototype HDK and didn't know that this Club even existed until Denny mentioned it today on the phone.....You guys trying to give me a hint or what ?

Yep--HDK 4-link--I'll take one at Indy in spring Denny--You know how I pay--LOL--Steve
