A couple moths later I bought my first car. Was fun for the 6 months I had it until it met its demise

Keystone Klassic Gold
Don't think they've made them for years, the black ones were/are the most common.
I thought they looked sharp against the F3 green
Thought so, haven't seen them in ages, if any are left surviving....lol.

I posted the cars I drove in post #4, but recently was reminded that when I wanted to get a motorcycle license in Atlanta, Georgia in the early nineties, I had to take a driving test on a motorcycle. (Didn't have to do that in Florida when I had one earlier.) I drove a 1978 Honda CB750 that my wife had picked up for $50 at an estate sale in SE Georgia with a few parts missing. I found the parts, cleaned the bike up, replaced the rusted out original exhaust with a Kerker header and my motorcycle mechanic friend got a set of 1970 carbs for it, along with some good rear shocks. Added K&N air filters. Otherwise was stock. Only had 14,000 miles on it, ran great. I sold it in 1995 to the guy who built my garage when I moved to Florida. He was a hard partying kind of guy, dropped it a few times, and pretty much ruined it. Sad story.

Driving test was something else. At first, I was trying to take it easy, acting like a responsible driver. The examiner said, no, show me a drag strip type start, so I revved it up, dumped the clutch and brought the front end up - behavior that would have got me a ticket if I had done that in public. But I guess I did show that I was able to control it. I passed the test.

PS: the 67 Barracuda is the same one I still own today, and still has a trailer hitch on it.

My parts car 72 Charger 400-4 car came with gold Keystone 14x7 and 15x8 on it.

They are in pretty good shape.

IIRC there were two different versions of the gold rims.

The version I have is chrome spokes and shell with gold in the recesses.

I've also seen gold spokes and shell with gold or black recesses.

That is a beautiful E body Barracuda, or was. What happened to it??
Thanks it was. Bought it for $650 as it looked in the pic. Sadly a 16 year old kid with too much power and not enough sense to get out of it when it was getting away. Met with a fire hydrant and ripped the rear frame out from under it. To add insult to injury I also got a ticket for excessive acceleration. Cop got out the wheel and measured it at 300 ft. Now it would have been a easy fix but it was way out of the budget for a kid and would have cost twice what I paid for it. Did part it out and made back my initial investment while keeping the engine, trans, hood and front seats

Sweet F body! When I was a kid my friend's older brother had an orange 69 Firebird 400, automatic, but I remember some seriously smoky burnouts in that car. Still my favorite year Firebird.

You can read more about that '70 Dart and my early-early experience with it here.

My Sis let me use her hubbies land yacht for my test. WV troopers were mean, we had to Parelle Park on a steep hill.
Boat like this.
