Folks,

I have a lovely set of rallye rims, rings, acorns and tires for sale at a great price.

A local gent who just bought a duster with sbp on the rear and lbp on the front (discs) would like to buy them. He likes the rallye rim look. I would like to sell them only if they will work.

The acorns for the two patterns are different.

Since spacers work really well for me I suggested that he move the front down to the sbp with a spacer.

He says that he was told that he would have to drill out the rim to make them fit.

I have no desire to get into a discussion about adapters.

What I would like to know if anyone has done this and will it work say, using a 1 inch spacer ? Won;t the spacer mover the rim to the smaller part of the spindle ?

Thanks
Ian.

I am not sure that a spacer would be the best idea because he would have to have the rotors redrilled to sbp. If it is possible, I personally would have an adapter made to go from bbp to sbp so a rotor could be easily replaced without having to modify it again when the time comes.

Yes...

What he is being told that if he gets this bbp to sbp adapter, the rim will not fit..says the center hole in the middle is too small.. 2 inch vs 3 inch..

I measure and the hole is @ 2.5 inches..

Your thinking is correct as long as there is room for the studs that are in the adapter to clear the bbp hub.

The sbp wheels do have a smaller hole than the bbp does but as you said the hub on the bbp is tapered. I would have him take off one of his wheel and slide yours up to his studs so he can see the clearance.
