Has anyone delt with alltrim.com? What was the experience like? I sent an email inquiring about some pretty basic stuff i.e how to go about getting an estimate on parts needing to be restored and time frame. He (who ever "he" is) did respond pretty quickly but all he had to say was refer to the website. So, after going back to the poorly designed web page I did see the small section about "customer supplied parts". I'm total cool with needing to send the parts for examination to determine cost. I own a body shop... I deal with people all the time wanting to know how much it will cost to repair their car as they "try" to desribe the damage over the phone. Some times I just want to ask them to hold the phone up to the car so that I can see it:-D I digress, there is some wordage and lines on this site that gives me the indication that he feels that his customers "owe" (beside payment for services rendered) him something. His work looks top notch... I just get the vibe that he thinks his $hit don't stink.

Your spidey senses are correct. Make no mistake about though - his workmanship and product are/is top quality bar none, but you are right he is too full of himself and he is very, very, expensive.
I was in the middle of a deal with him, got his invoice, went to the bank, got the money order to buy one of his parts for sale and had just purchased an overnite envelope to send it in, and he sends me an email saying he changed his mind. Prick cost me over $100 on fees and I had nothing to show for it but a bad taste in my mouth. Some one else could pay for his stuff and give it to me for free and I wouldn't accept it - and I'm not kidding. He has zero people skills.
But, like I said he puts out a pretty excellent product ....... if you're willing to wait 6 months to a year.

Thanks 440WIP. Like you said his work may be the pinnacle but he's not the only ticket in town. We do excellent work at Modern Autobody but so do other body shops, so there's a level of customer service that we like to deliver. Yep, I'm not a fan of crotchety old bastards. Hell, I don't mind paying good money for excellence, but you'd better have a damn good attitude as you take my hard earned money. Do you know of anyone else you'd recommend? I met a gentalman by the name of John at 2K inc. That does instrument panel restoration and his work also looks very good. I'll probably go that direction. I've got his email if you need it.
