Install of interior kit - rip off !

I'm glad I have a buddy who is great at headliners, and he always helps me out for free!! I also help him on home improvement projects around his house, so it's a barter system that works for us both!! We'll do about anything upholstery related too, but won't touch convertible tops!! too bad to, cause I have two that need redone!! Rats!!

How bout throwing out a barter offer to your installer...just about anything can be traded nowadays!! Might be worth a try!! geof
 
Legendary Interiors quotes prices on their web site.....around $500 + parts....I received the same quote from a local guy so that price seems to be a good guideline.

This is F/R seat covers....not the headliner.

I've done seat covers from Legendary.
No problem.
I've never done a headliner but it sounds like it needs more than one set of hands.
That's why I like carboard ones.
Just recover them.

I paid 150.00 for my headliner and was very happy, just covered my backseat my self and it turned out better than i thought for my first time. I will start my buckets next week, would love to do my own windshield and back window myself, cant find anyone aroound me to do it under 500. headliner is easier with the glass out

Did they charge you shipping anyway?
 
1500, wow... I got my seats front and back, door panels and arm rests done for $1000, by a one man shop.....he does mostly mazerati and mercedes...
he even used all new foam ...
 
It all should come down to labor when you supply the parts. It probably takes an experienced person professional 2 to 3 hours say to install a headliner how much should it be charging hourly, 50-60 bucks? $1500 for all seems bit steep and 4200 I'd run from fast. These guys just sound pissed because you bought the stuff and they can't make money on their mark ups!

I had the same problems trying to get my car painted, I got qoutes for 10 grand, my cars not worth that much! I stripped the car and did the body work all they had to do is prep and paint it. Body shops seems to make to much on collision work to bother to earn their keep these days!
