My harmonic balancer is a post 71 model going on a 67 273 so the timing marks changed. Below is my solution using my homemade installer. I marked TDC using my piston stop and am keeping the stock timing marker. I installed the summit racing timing tape per forum suggestion. As I have to pre-lube the system yet and it is a function of cam degrees I made a 360 degree template in my computer that is slightly smaller than the balancer. I decided to hone the hub a bit as it had been on and off the crank once already. I built a wooden key so my brake hone would not catch the keyway and honed the hub very slightly, just to clean. I installed the timing tape, the degree wheel and painted with clearcoat. Then I chased all the threads and cleaned with laquer thinner and installed it on the car. Below are the photos. Looks good! How did you attach degree wheel?
Not criticizing but arent most degree wheels larger?
Smaller leaves more room for error no? Again just asking.

I made the degree wheel on my computer, I use Cad in my work and it was easy. I printed it on paper and fastened it with spray-on adhesive and clear coated it. It's only purpose in life is to help me find the correct degrees at which the pre-oil charging takes place so I did not feel it had to be that accurate. The timing tape is nuts on however which is how all the tuning will happen.
