I was able to get the intake back from the machine shop and installed. It appeared that everything lined up and sealed up well. I did two cold starts. First one initially after everything was back together., which I knew would be bad due to degreeing the cam shaft so I didnt think that start would be indicative of the changes. got the engine warm, set the base timing and adjusted the idle settings are the carb, shut it down and let it cool down for two days. the second start up it did start to smoke a little and the rpms dropped a bit, but using some people's suggestions from here (thank you), I opened the choke a little more and the idle smoothed out. So it appears not only was there a vacuum leak but the choke also needs work. Unfortenately I wont get time to work on that for a bit. I needed to swap the charger and my truck out before the snow came so I could get some maintenance work done to the truck. So come spring time I will work on the choke and the other carb adjustments.
So just a little more and this car should be good! thanks everyone!
