Forgive me, I actually did do a search on this but found nothing....which surprised be a bit.
Regardless, I'm curious about what intake manifolds are available that fit a Dodge 5.9 Magnum engine. I'm looking for a basic dual plane mid rise single 4 barrel design.
I remember this one....

....BUT while the picture shows a Magnum style vertical intake bolt setup the Magnums used, it is described as "Small Block". The price is unbelievably cheap too. Compare that to this one...

Almost FIVE hundred dollars for an intake manifold ???

the air gap and the knock off air gap are all you're gonna find new. used you can occasionally find the M1 dual plane, but it'll be about the same price as real deal air gap.

there are arguments conversations about power per $ or lack there of either way on the three of them.

Looking at the Crosswinds a bit closer....

It does look to have both bolt patterns to it.
Why the heck is it so cheap ??

yeah that's got both. and a coil mount!

that's about what the hong-kong phooey intakes run: 130ish~175ish

check 'em when you get 'em, sometimes the ports is off.

I used the ebay airgap at $127. I believe all the chinese intakes are the same. It’s pretty well made and the ports line up well. There’s one major flaw, which is that the magnum bolt holes are the LA width instead of the thinner magnum width, so the intake doesn’t line itself up when you drop the bolts in. If you aren’t careful you can end up installing it not aligned with the ports and even so far back that the distributor won’t line up. Not a big deal if you know to look out for it though. IMO it’s a very good intake for the money.

Sadly there is only those 3 dual plane intakes available for the Magnum. But those 3 have you covered.

I’d be surprised if you could find the M-1 cheap as people think they are made of gold.

The engine that I might be getting has an M1 single plane and a cam bigger than I prefer. This is the 380 HP version 360 that Mopar Performance sold for many years.
I won't be drag racing this car, I want low end and midrange power. I don't care to run it over 5500 rpms so a single plane isn't a good fit for me.

I'm sure the dual plane makes more low end torque, but the M1 single plane also does a good job down low, at least on my 380hp crate it does.

A fellow FABO member has a 360/360 in his 68 Dart....

I have driven this car. It did in fact feel soft from idle but I did not push it hard or high rpms where it may have come alive. I have a basically stock 360 in a 67 Dart that flat out rips right off idle. It has a dual plane intake and a smaller cam.
If a torque peak is at 4100 rpms, I'd call that less than optimal for a street car.
The white 68 Dart above had 3.91s and a Tremec 5 speed. My 67 has a 904 and a 4.10 gear. Just a guess but I suspect that I'd get him from a dig but he'd run me down well before the 1/8 mile.
I'm looking to use his engine but to change the intake and camshaft to shift the power curve lower.

are you doing a full boogie rebuild or just freshening up? have you selected a cam yet?

btw, your club mate is clearly a man of taste and style; i have a white 68 dart as well.

That blows my mind how they can be so cheap!
Remember you get what you pay for, so to get it "right" you may have to do some port matching and possibly even have the intake faces machined correctly. That said, people have had to do the same with Air Gaps.....so there's THAT.

We ran the dual pattern Profesional Products crosswind on a 360 LA in his 73 Duster and had no problem with port alignment on our 308 heads. Car ran 108 mph at 12.4s. Still have it but we're too far away to save you any money.

I used one on my Frankenteen build years ago. Magnum heads on an LA 318 short block. I never got to fire that engine, unfortunately, as I had to end up selling it, but the intake fit very well. Some do and some don't so it's something you have to play by ear. Same as the Edelbrocks now though.

There's a company out there who will fill the intake holes in the magnum heads and redrill the LA holes. This opens the door for any LA intake. I thought I bookmarked them but can't find it now

There was a jig being loaned out to drill/tap magnum heads for LA pattern but I believe someone stole them.

I have used (and am using) two of the speedmaster air gaps (chinese knock-offs). Zero issues with either. No leaks, no nothing and I used them straight from the box
