Ok, now to the problem.
I installed 318 heads on my ´65 273 Barracuda. I got a Edelbrock dualplane with a Holley 600 dp carb.
The engine goes perfect with igniton 7 degrees before TDC, but i will not start.
Chaning igniton to zero degrees TDC it starts but it runs very poor.
What is the problem. Many motor-heads have been looking, but none could come up with some answers
Regards Anders

Weak spark?
Check for slipped outer ring on damper
Kornsas, Finland
Does it start fairly easy at 0* Timing.
I always time by ear, making marks superfluous.
The Eddy LD4B is the one you want for the early small block, 273,318.66 and later fit 318, 340, 360. You Can fit an earlier manifold but not without work, mainly realigning the bolt holes to go angle, "Wallowing" it out. MT
Just go with the Mopar Orange box and distributor. Never had ANY problems with that setup in my 65 Cuda Formula "S". Also have the same setup in my 66 w100 Powerwagon with a Poly 318.Ok, now to the problem.

is it not cranking fast enough at 7 deg, or not firing? Could it possibly be a weak starter not turning fast enough or drawing too many amps not letting the ignition get the voltage it needs to fire?
good job! MT
