Yeah, and what about all that debris from the worn bronze gear getting into your engine? Ask me how I know. The "sacrificial" gear sacrificed my engine.

I feel for you, I was told I had to have a bronze gear.

I was told the same thing. I listened to my builder instead of looking at the bottom of the cam card where it said I should use "steel". My fault for not doing my homework. I should have "trusted and verified". Expensive lesson.

You can use a bronze gear......
It will just wear quicker & require frequent inspection.
Now, about the bronze bits going through the engine....
