Hello all,

Well first You've to forgive me for this intro without the 'right' mopar photo's.... yes I know it's a shame.

I'm new to the Mopar World and even just know where Mopar actually stands for... well enough said... and maybe even too much. :yawinkle:

How I ended up here:
Well I had some projects in the past; owned a replica Cobra with a F*rd 460 and sold it.

After that I build a motorcycle which actual won the price best custom of 2008. It was a racer with genuine MotoGP parts. I learned a lot and it was a great journey!

Unfortunately the bike was stolen two years ago and I was really sick, cause it was just an awesome bike which took 1,5 years to build. And didn't wanted to do anything anymore....

So I literally ended up like this photo, which they made for a commercial:

Then a friend bought an Oldsmobile and I helped him just a little bit... not too much cause my knowledge is very limited. It was finished just a couple of months ago and now looks like this:

So I got a bit of the virus and started reading and now I'm in the middle of a buying process! It is taking a while cause the owner has to fix an axle before I can test drive it. Also I'm not in a hurry but am excited! The nice thing about this car is the nice interior that still looks great.
But what to do with the car when I get it. Well first let me tell you the model of car I'm talking about; a nice Valiant four door from 1968 with a Slant Six.

First I'll probably drive it a while just so to get more info and to get more familiar with all the possibilities on how to fill all my wished. I already know what my wishes are but I'm not familiar with all the products available.

My plan so far: keep the outside as original as possible and give it an unfinished look. But with a nice V8 and overall upgrades (disc brakes, rear axle, cage etc). I do want it to be a car which is reliable and can be driven often and doesn't have to see a drag-strip.

So I hope to learn a lot from this forum and will make sure I'll make a lot of photo's from this project! :)

Off-course I already made some photo's with my phone which I can share... not the best quality, but I'll promise there will be more with better quality. :yawinkle:

Thx, but it isn't mine! ;) Well I helped him a little, but it is a sweet ride! When it was finished he immediately wanted to sell it.... and it just became summertime... crazy friend!

It is so sad it has to be like this.... well it happened am glad I have a new project. The only problem is that there aren't manny junkyards with American cars and I still need a lot of parts.

@All; thx, for the welcome!

Welcome to FABO, Bidle, from SoCal. You're going to have fun here!
You say you want a car that's reliable, can be driven often, and doesn't have to go to the dragstrip? Then just build that little slant-six! They're almost indestructable and will go forever. Plus they can be built to give decent power - see some of the turbo slant six threads in this forum.

Hi,

Thx, for the reply! I already checked some of the threads and they, indeed, look great! :)

Still a V8 has something to it, the sound!! Aargh, so it has to be a V8! Also I will like it when the outside of the car is just old... not shinny and under the hood a shinny V8!
