It rained, and rained, and rained

Arrived safely at Quaker City in Ohio yesterday for this weekends 5000, 10,000, 5000 race. Weather was terrible yesterday and I ran a 6.09, 6.10, and went out on a 6.12. Air was terrible to start with and went worse 200 feet from the Time I dialed my car and checked the weather in the lanes till the time I ran. Some guys said 400 feet. Tired, hot, and couldn’t hit the tree with a shotgun decided not to buy back in. Right after buyback round I was scrambling to load up. The rains came, then they started drying the track and it came again. And again and again and again. Not looking good for later today either. Pictures stolen from another racer.

Well I was out anyway do to not finding the tree. Had an .013 during my one and only time trial so I can work with that.

It’s been coming through here in Wisconsin, the stuff that just pops up outta nowhere. Most of the heavy rain just misses me. I get.3-.5 where I’m at while areas a couple miles away gets pounded with 2 inches in an hour.

Texted my son Matt running at Norwalk and he won first round too. Raining there now with hail and tornado warnings for later. We have some bad stuff heading in too. Ohhh this is why I love winning first round at these races.

Well for winning one round it paid pretty good. Paid 300.00 to run a 5000.00, 10,000.00, and 5000.00 race and win 204.00 for winning one round. We shall try for 5000.00 tomorrow

Well here we go into day 3. Beautiful weather finally and it looks like the air with be about 800 feet better than yesterday. My son Matt went out in the 4th round so he had a late night too. My knees are killing me and I sure wish I would have gotten cortisone shots a few weeks ago. I’ll be calling tomorrow to get on the schedule for one in each knee.

I’m an idiot and going to load up and start my 90 mile trip home. Between the heat and humidity and rain this weekend my knees are killing me. They just made my buyback call and it’s killing me not to go up.
