so after cleaning the inside up some i started putting **** away. pull the tool box out of the rear of my cherokee and in the bottom is my new coil and ecu. its liek 4pm and the temps are dropping kinda fast and it will be dark soon so i'm going back and forth as what to do.. finally said screw it. i'll stick the ecu in and if it has spark good it not i'll do the coil another day...

get the ecu in, a little gas down the carb and that ***** started right up.... couldn't believe it..

major exhaust leak from the rotted air tube on the rear of the manifold, smoked like a ***** at first but cleared up and it runs smooth and quiet. carb is an old junker i had laying around so its running fast for some reason but it was running so i was happy...

carb should be back today from being rebuilt...

here it is before rebuild.. i'll post after pics when i get it...

So not all too much to report but over the winter I picked up a new rear bumper for the truck from LMC. Damn original ones are crazy money if you can even find a good one. This one is nice. Great driver quality and much ni er then what's on the truck.

Pulled it out and gave it a bath. Getting ready to go through the brake system. I have all the stuff but just need the time and good weather now.

Just today I grabbed a bunch of lil **** that has been sitting in an attic for 25 or so years. Got all but the H-pipe to mufflers pipes and mufflers. Still have to figure out what I want muffler wise. Seemed like a good score. I didn't steal the stuff but paid a fair price in my opinion.

Parts I grabbed today.

stack pipes, 2 sets of muffler to stack pipes, door weather strip, headlight bezels, chrome windshield locking stuff, 2 sets of stack tips, mirrors and one base, half the H-pipe and some wood bolts...

Man that thing looks clean I like it dont see them very often!! Who rebuilt the carb for you that thing looks like new!

Picked up a few more things for the truck. May actually have to turn a wrench on this thing soon.

I ordered a pair of dynomax super turbo mufflers for it. Hopefully they aren't annoying. Just too many choices and opinions on what mufflers to use. Walker site had the numbers for stock ones which would be too quiet and these that hopefully have a decent sound.

At Carlisle I grabbed the two pipes I needed to complete the exhaust system. These go from the H-pipe to the mufflers.

Also at Carlisle I found a set of mp small block chrome valve covers. These are new but need some cleaning but are actually a little nicer then I wanted. Can't stand all the bracket on the stock ones and with these I can run plug wires the way I want to. Damn thing are getting a bit hard to find. Some guys think they are gold. Last set I got new in the box for $50. I painted them and put them on Jamie's dart. Lol. I'll stick the stock ones on the shelf invade I ever sell and the new owner wants them.

Good progress on the parts collecting. Are the mufflers 17747? I cant quiet tell in photo but, if so, I put those on my D100/440 project. They have a nice rumble and not annoying while cruising. They will talk when you get on it though. I thought maybe too quiet but, I'm over not being able to talk or hear the music while driving. My 2 cents. Edit since the quiet spelling driving me crazy. I think you will like them.

yes thats the number on them... good to hear that they aren't too bad.. i want a decent sound but not annoying. especially with the pipes ending right behind my head.. had flowmasters on my last one many years ago. sounded awesome but way too loud for me today.

my wheels are ready....

i finally got around to spraying my wheels with the stuff @CudaChick1968 recommended. looks to have dulled the shine a little bit if it keeps me from having to polish the damn things every three weeks its fine by me.. that stuff sprays nice.. think i did something wrong because i used a ton more product then i thought i should but its on there and its laying flat.. curious to see what it looks like after 24 hours... if you put your hand close to it you can see a clear as hell reflection still..

So where's the video with the new carburetor on it? Comin right along with it. Looks good.

The new rims and tires are finally on. Doesn't look all that much different in the pics but is light years better in person. Still have to pick up some new lug nuts too.

Cool little pickups!! I had one I drug home about '95. I cold fill it full of heavy parts, and haul the car trailer with a complete B body no problem. (bed was a little too small!)

Where did you find the cleaner (t-butyl)? Cheap $$? I know that’s the one they recommend. I just used paint grade W&G remover and let it flash an hour. The silver turned out great on my exhaust pipes. You are right it lays out nice. Plan to try the clear on my 68 tail panel when the time comes.

What pressure were you running? I ran about 20 psi but prob could have gone down to 15

I got the cleaner from the pla e that sells the coating.

I forget what air pressure. My buddy who let me use his shop would probably remember. I'm thinking it was 30ish with the trigger pulled.

If using 30 at the gun that’s probably why you feel like you used more material. With the mini gun it atomizes great.

Will be interested in how the coating holds up.

probably. had a decent pattern though. i hope i holds up ok. don't want to polish the damn things every week..lol

9-17-19

replaced all the steel brake lines today. the inline tube lines actually fit pretty well. the worst part was down by the proportioning valve.. holy crap it was tight there.. hopefully this weekend i can finish the brake system up.. all the rubber lines, rotors, calipers, drums and all associated parts..
