This evening I upgraded the steering link in my 2001 cummins from the "Y" type to the 2010
"T" type crossover steering. It went in with no mods but didn't finish it up because I inspected my steering box while uncoupled from the drag link and it has quite a bit of play in the output shaft so gonna upgrade it to one of the red head boxes. On a side note has anyone ever drilled and installed grease fitting in tie rod ends? Of course the the new unit from mopar didn't come with serviceable Ball joints.

Yep, the spec for the holes size is standard (depends on the size fitting you've selected).

Be gentle, grease the bit to catch the chips, and enjoy not having to d!*k with it again!

Dang right that's what I'm shooting for! Thanks I'll get them installed before I finish up

Not sure what your problems are but mine wondered all over the road.

Added a stabilizer that mounts between frame rails and the the bottom of sector shaft with a bearing for the sector to ride in. Helped my truck a lot.

$120 shipped to the house from Michigan.

All the parts under my front end are still factory 1995 parts and are not loose. 154,000 miles

Seems the frame rails flex on the dodge trucks

Yea the frame rails do flex some. I fabbed up a steering box stabilizer a few years ago
if I hadn't I'm sure it would have fell apart by now lol. I upgraded to the 2004 track bar
to get away from the ball joint on the stock bar. Done all new ball joints and axle u joints
and it drives a lot better than it did I believe the new crossover steering and steering box will help some more. One last thing to after all that is upgrade the steering column joints
